Lets not make judgments about people and what they look like. Let the scientists decide on a case by case basis. My take is that if a person is diagnosed as intersex then they should compete with men or have their own category.

When she was born, and the doctors looked at her, she was declared female. Anything else is pang'ang'a. She is female.

Firstly I believe Semenya is capable of breaking the world record if she tried but she does not want to. She does the bare minimum it takes to win. If you look closely you see she is not even tired after running 1:55 I have never seen Semenya straining to the finish line or going all out. She is just coasting. I believe she is capable of 1:53 or below. She has not made any attempts at the world record. A world record attempt usually is planned with a pacesetter to take you through the first lap in about 55 seconds or so. Secondly the world record is held by another person who was probably intersex and was also probably on drugs (Jarmila Kratochilova). In fact most of the best 800m times were set during the era when Eastern European countries had state sponsored doping programs This is Jarmila Kratochilova the world record holder  Wah! I don't think she identifies herself as a MAN - no, she identifies herself as a woman but has very masculine features. to know whether she identifies as a girl or not - ASK HER! She has never said she is a dude! Intersex is not as straight forward as we think... it's like 30 conditions... 30!!! and they sometimes occur in collabo. So i am not even sure how many permutations of intersex they are. Where I stand... niko na @hardwood, I say look at the external... and ask... WEWE NI MALE or FEMALE? ama chungulia nini iko huko chini... kama it's straight forward - weka in obvious categories. hii mambo ya internal this and internal that.. how does one know they are missing a womb when they are growing up and identifying as a girl? ama internal testes. Caster is female since she identifies as female (not that she acts as female but because she identifies as such). Akiambiwa aandike jina anaandika Caster... akiambiwa aandike Gender - anaweka 'FEMALE'. everything else is other people labling her as otherwise. All Mushrooms are edible!
