@ Kadonye
Kindly be a little more honest with us.

Does anybody else other than the Govt carry any power to BAN???

It would be a little better if they were prevailing upon the Govt to ensure that there are controls in that field.

Banning DSTV as they have, logically means you cant watch Soccer that is exclusively streammed via that channel.
It may be true that in the DSTV packages there may be some programmes whose moral standing is incompatipble with the one that Supkem and co want to promote.
But it is not for them to decide on such matters over any geographic extend beyond individual homes.
If any religion wants to gurd against moral decadence, what they need to do is persuade their followers to follow the thin and narrow, but not resort to active policing/governance.
Alternatively they may lobby the legal authorities to control, not "take law unto their hands".

@Kadonye, the only institution in Kenya that can ban stuff is the GOVERNMENT or are they the government now?
Maybe we were not copied in the memo that escalated SUPKEM to be part of the Executive and parliament for the Kenyan People.

@kadonye, if they are so much more legalistic than christians why havent we heard of similar instances in mombasa,nrb,eld,kitui,malaba...etc.there are muslims in these areas as well.what is special about north eastern? Yes it is predominantly muslim but arent they still part of kenya? Does the constitution not apply to them when it comes to certain things-freedom of gathering for instance. This is where this kadhi courts and sharia law come into play. They are already flexing their muscles

They have no legal authority to ban.

But they have a hold on their flock so much that they can enforce a ban.

@kadonye...go tell it to the birds. The only organ that can and should be able to BAN anything is the government. Thats why we don't want religious fingers (Christian or otherwise) anywhere in its running.

What happens to a non-Muslim that operates a DSTV joint in Moyale?

We are bending over backwards to accommodate Kadhi courts and daily Mu-sneezin and these guys are interpreting it as a license to screw us over. In Saudi Arabia you would be beheaded for starting a church. As usual, Africa swallows the democracy and 'tolerance' dogma hook, line and sinker as Western countries such as Canada, Belgium and France outdo each other in try to ban burqas.

Kenya is always outdoing itself in being a f****d up country.

Maybe the churches ought to do these. I don't know if we Christians are extremely democratic, don't cares or cowards. We never stand up against evil, we just watch from a distance and wait for our Pastors to condemn the evil of the week on Sunday at the pulpit while we nod our heads.

BBI will solve it

@Kadonye

Now that’s more like it, however......

Your religious persuasion not withstanding I must say that if they were tapping from the loyalty of their followers – by persuading them to give such dens a wide berth, we wouldn’t be so bothered.

But a ban!!! (in the universal sense, as opposed to the polemics you wanna introduce) simply beyond my ken.

Bwana we've have come to consider you as a voice of reason in this forum but today.....mmmm ....
you are wavering.

@cherubin,3rd option Force these MPigs who we pay obscene amounts of money to change the Review Act and prevent a show-down.

@2012, are you a Christian? the fundamentals of Christianity is to deal with the intent!!! not the action since the action is a manifestation of the rot within. Thats why Christianity does not police its flock. Christianity is not legalistic. It points at moral wrongs but does not make the choice for you. since at the end of the day you will be held accountable by the law of the land or by God for all your actions.

This is the point where we admire them when in church closed doors for taking action on such matters..
but condemn them in public when it suits an argument..

Other wise ive always condemned them.... what do i do if im not muslim and my patrons are not muslim...i have to run my business.

Supkem have murkied the water..and now that i have just acquired my voters card.. im angling towards 'NO'
