Bangladesh has 4,800 and Switzerland has 3,900 so at 4000 we will be number 99! All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!

I know a few kiuk friends who have gone bought the normal tankers used to ferry refined fuel in anticipation to transport the crude...how sad! You need special tankers to ferry crude, and its not cheap. Cheap is relative "There are only two emotions in the market, hope & fear. Atleast we get to save on forex.
which is a measly Sh 4B per annum for the starting 2,000BPD assuming world class efficiency in the production process I highly doubt it, the saudis can easily sell us their oil at a lower price than we can produce ours, unless we go the nationalist route, even the americans wamewezwa. We don't need much oil as a country, I think its better if we export the oil in its crude form, wacha that waste (which I assume exists after the refining process) ikae huko majuu. And we can enjoy our geothermal Where did you learn your economics, there are no two prices for the same thing, Saudis produce cheap but still sell at the world market prices. So as long our break even point is equivalent or below the world market prices, we are in business. We can also still be in business if we tax imports but don't tax local production to match our local production costs to world prices, were they to be higher. I have been learning my economics on wazua but the saudis fracked those american frackers its like if you have a borehole that needs a pump to bring water to the surface, and so you have to fuel and maintain that pump to get water, but your neighbor has a well that ka aquifers well that just pushes water out by itself, now would you be better getting your water from the expensive pump or buying the cheap water from your neighbor. but either-way my opinion would be not to invest too much into an energy source that's headed into extinction.

Isn't it interesting that we are discussing this without puting it in its rightful political context.
Min of Energy is under URP. 2017 is an election year.
Ama we have dreamers here who believe arap mashamba would actually be interested in a project that improves the lives of Kenyans. The only thing that sells in urp is that which promises wsr the highest amount of cash. And this looks like an easy money maker.

which politician is interested in projects that improve the lives of kenyans, if that was the case we would be in the same league with the tigers. Just mention one political leader that has the kenyan people as his first priority

You get a feeling his heart is in the right place but he is beholden by the baggage of corrupt cartels in his own party and a difficult marriage to a kleptomaniac partner.

This thing about excuses is just that, its like a man complaining that if it were not for the wife or his money hungry relatives he would have done wonders for his hungry, sickly kids. If you put your kids first then the wife or relatives won't matter, in fact they will realize that and adopt accordingly.
