[TWEET]758173213805404161/TWEET] i feel your pain... @hardwood quick question for you to answer did you support BO in 2008 and 2012?just asking for a cousin who wants to know No i didn't. My political philosophy wouldn't allow me to support the democrats. My beliefs are "right wing" and I always support the "right". That is why i support the Conservatives (UK), Republicans (US), Putin, Mugabe, Museveni, and Jubilee (Kenya). I never support leftist/socialist/liberal movements. So it's nothing personal with BO or baba or Besigye, Tsviangirai etc. I thought Jubilee are more liberal than cord, well at least at face value. In Kenya its difficult and almost impossible to know which party is on the Left and which one on the Right. Its a confused amalgam...people change parties overnight, parties have no ideology, parties are led by "owners" who cultivate hero-worship culture and former ruling parties becomes obsolete after their terms in office has ended. There is nothing like Libs and Conservatives in KE. The left-right distinction is there even in our politics. ODM'S ideology is social democracy which is a left wing ideology, while TNA/Jubilee has nationalism and conservatism as its ideology which basically means right wing/conservative. LINK 1LINK 2LINK 3 Oya! Why post links that have nothing to do with the argument only a history of how the two parties came to be. In Kenya and most if not all African countries do not seem to have any of those distinctions you're insinuating. I think its more like the opposition of the day claims to be liberal while the ruling party often drifts towards conservative/strongman tendencies "The purpose of bureaucracy is to compensate for incompetence and lack of discipline." ODM=Risasi is positions itself as a party for the oppressed. They appear to fight to the minority and that is why they exploit the communities that seem not represented in government. No wonder they have been following in nyanza, western and coastal regions. They potray as the party to defend the down trodden. In Reality however, the leaders are just selfish capitalists using their subjects for their selfish gains. Uhuruto represents the status quo. Those who seem to enjoy power and are in governments. They also pretend to make the lives of their subjects better through posting of beautiful selfies but they are also using them. At night the two groups meet and do business deals together laughing at the stupidity of their followers. Hutia Mundu!!

It is driven by interest of communities and organised working class. Social democracy promotes and practises politics of basic needs and social inclusion. Also:

First and foremost that link is an opinion piece which means its what someone thinks not necessarily factual. If today i got to write an opinion piece and it was published that Kanu is a liberal party would it be factual? Do you see those highlighted words in blue on Wikipedia? It shows you where the information was derived from. If you follow them you will realize that they do not come from the parties themselves. So if today i find information claiming TNA to be Liberal or center left i can apply to edit the information on that wiki page. The best source to get the ideology or a political position would be the party itself not quotes from opinion pieces and wikipedia which i can apply to edit. “People will believe a big lie sooner than a little one, and if you repeat it frequently enough, people will sooner or later believe it.” ― Walter C. I look at it this way, the party that promotes hard work and capitalism - right wing/conservative (jubilee), freebies and hand outs - left wing /liberal (CORD) i.am.back!!!!

harrydre wrote:I look at it this way, the party that promotes hard work and capitalism - right wing/conservative (jubilee), freebies and hand outs - left wing /liberal (CORD) A party can promote hard work and capitalism and still offer freebies and handouts. In fact, Jubilee does both. So does CORD promote both aspects. If this is true then the differentiation has failed.
