It looks very likely that President Erdogan staged this coup attempt so as to assert his authority and win public support. Now the army, the judiciary and government are being purged of suspected plotters and sympathizers. Even institutions of higher learning...More than 1000+ lecturers have been asked to resign If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

How could thousands of people plot a coup? He thinks he is wise, lakini very soon that country that was priding itself to be in Europe will be no more, the syria way they go! Those are too many enemies to fight!

I pity those solders, they were duped into thinking it was a coup supported by the whole armed forces, only for the masterminds to leave them out cold, being whipped in the streets. My disappointment is with the rest of the armed forces, yaani how do you watch your fellow soldiers being humiliated like that, at least the top army echelons should have insisted that the soldiers be arrested by fellow soldiers and taken through some sort of that army court system, not ordinary cops and citizens whipping them. The funny thing is that, the same social media edu was banning the other day is the same he was using to urge his supporters to go to the streets and defeat the said coup.

You have witnessed the re-birth of the sultanate. The people with @Guru & @Alph mindset and beliefs are jubilant! What will they miss? Democracy? Hence the whippings. Look at this thing with a western mindset and you will miss the juicy parts of it.

So far about 1,577 university deans (faculty heads) have been asked to resign in addition to 21,000 teachers and 15,000 education ministry officials. “People will believe a big lie sooner than a little one, and if you repeat it frequently enough, people will sooner or later believe it.” ― Walter C. Does this mean Turkey no longer wants to join the EU? "The purpose of bureaucracy is to compensate for incompetence and lack of discipline." James Collins
