Hope I understood you...anyway in terms of academic papers Makau has the best papers by far no one even comes close...but for now the Judiciary needs a career Judge and like I said before Kihara is the best guy for the job....Msagha comes next.

We are tired of judiciary activism.

And by the way @Miguna claims @makau''s papers are fake and that he is not a prof as claimed neither is he a lecturer but rather some clerk in Buffalo.
How true??

Boss his papers are genuine...lets call a spade a spade there is no one in Kenya (law relted matters) who comes even to a sniffing distance of Makaus CV...no one...@Rahatupu is right activism should take a back seat...Mutunga btw has really messed up the judiciary esp in organizational matters...chaos galore...

On a serious note, yaani other than the fact that he doesn't like Uhuru, exactly what other reason would you have for disqualifying Makau?

If you are looking for the best legal minds this is how I rate them

1. Makau
2. Dr. Kiplagat
3. Smoking

Give it to anyone else, you are joking and just created probably another Njoki Ndungu type court.
Thieves are not good people. Tumeelewana?

If I remember correctly the good professor was sacked as dean at SUNY on allegations of impropriety, staff favoritsm and possible federal perjury charges.

Makau Mutua would probably fall short on integrity alone.

Just read the whole story ,Huyu jamaa alipeleka ukenya huko umerikani? Jeez . That he was running the department like he would run his kitchen?

Law school Dean Makau Mutua has resigned. The resignation comes amid allegations that he lied in federal court and in a state administrative proceeding.

The alleged lying under oath stems from a 2011 case filed by Jeffrey Malkan who says the dean wrongfully terminated his contract as a clinical professor. Malkan had signed a contract in November 2006 that stated he could only be fired for cause in accordance to the law school accreditation standard. Two months after becoming dean, Mutua terminated the contract.

The suit also alleges that Malkan was denied due process under the 14th Amendment.

Mutua, who has been dean for seven years, will step down officially on Dec. 19, but he will continue to teach at UB as a SUNY Distinguished Professor and Floyd H. and Hilda L. Hurst Faculty Scholar. Mutua is a Harvard graduate and a well-known leader in international human rights.

Provost Charles Zukoski sent an email to faculty Monday announcing the resignation. He did not mention the lawsuit in the email, but focused on Mutua’s accomplishments as dean, which include recruiting 22 new faculty members, offering more experiential learning opportunities for students and fundraising $23 million.

“I decided to step down because it was the right time: A seven-year tenure is twice as long as the typical tenure for a law dean, and I’ve accomplished what I set out to do,” Mutua said in a written statement to The Spectrum.

Faculty and students interviewed by The Spectrum offered tepid to scathing critiques of Mutua’s tenure and many students insist they have never seen Mutua on campus nor interacted with him. In October 2010, the law school faculty attempted to hold a vote of no confidence in Mutua, but the attempt was dismissed by then President John B. Simpson and then Provost Satish Tripathi, according to email correspondence obtained by The Spectrum in 2013.

The faculty at UB Law had long been rife with complaints on Mutua’s leadership. According to Professor Rebecca French, Mutua has a “very authoritative style that is arbitrary and capricious.” French, along with several other female professors, particularly resented the way in which Mutua treated the faculty as a whole and each of them as individual professors. UB administrators apparently attempted to cover-up Mutua’s malfeasance as his actions nearly “caused a no confidence vote” that was st

So what are the achievements of Makau mutua?Does he have any experience in running anything leave alone leading the judiciary? The Judiciary is not a university and is not looking for someone with theory papers only with no practical experience.
His only attribute is arrogance and spreading hate for Uhuruto.
Our obsession with only academic papers will be the end of us.I have interviewed candidates some of them with Masters but can't get anything done.

THE has shortage of professors in law so he can work work perfectly there.

I prefer Smoking........Highly learned and with the practical experience required to run the Judiciary.
