The recent power interruptions have really interrupted my work.
I am looking for a back up power solution that can power my devices and maybe router during such an event.
I cannot have a backup generator since I'm in an apartment and solar is not a solution too.
Anyone know of something I can purchase?
I would like something that is easily portable, automatic transition when power goes off is a big plus.
What kind of up time are you looking at from your power backup system?
A few hours. 3/4 hours. But the longer the better of course :-)
If you need a reliable backup , you may need to trade the portability part. If you have the funds you could go for a battery - inverter setup which unlike the generator eliminates noise and fuel use.

True an inverter is much better...
What about charging of the battery(ies), Solar or MAINS powe?
Depends on your premises ..you can use solar panels or you can use the mains ( when available ) to charge the batteries.
