Does Ngunze have these kind of steel balls? No. Is there support for him by the systems/Law? No.

There is no strike notice. On the contrary the pilots are working flat out even on their days' off to ensure minimal disruption. KQ is now facing attrition problems from their pilots and engineers who are jumping ship for other airlines. At this rate KQ will have a significant skills shortage by end of this year. From the beginning of last year till now approximately 25 pilots have resigned...10 of them left to do other things and the rest to the middle east and to our neighbouring upcoming rival airline. Another approximately 20 will be leaving before end of the year to the middle east and 5 to the aforementioned neighbour airline.

The biggest loss is from the engineers. My forecast is that KQ will be unable to do heavy maintenance checks on its aircraft and will have to rely on other airlines(probably KLM) who charge exhorbitant fees.

Unfortunately years and years of mediocre human resource and employee relations in the company have lead to this.

But Ngunze wanted to transfer pilots to ET? What was informing the move? There is no skilled employee who will hang on to a sinking ship with a Captain who cannot steer it out of the storm. When the guy speaks, he sends the wrong signals to everyone. TerryAnne in a past Citizen business interview asked him what is his message to employees and he reckless said he cannot guarantee anyone anything. One will ask with a solid turnaround strategy he can afford not to guarantee anything? For an astute business leader even when a Company is closing tomorrow he/she will never expose it in such a way.

KQ need to lobby against this new proposal to increase passenger service tax. It will cripple aviation in Kenya as the travel agents puts it.

Talk about a stupid proposal. Add a tax to tickets. Subsidize the ticket cost. Create jobs for bureaucrats, tenderpreneurs and scam artists like Alex Mbugua. Only crooks or idiots would like such a scheme!

Aviation in Africa is already heavily taxed. This one of the reasons why airlines in Africa fails to prosper.

The idiocy, dear @Obiero, isn't the GoK proposal to raise taxes but that you want "govt to subsidize cost per ticket" at the same time when GoK is increasing taxes.

@Obiero - if you think you will become MinFin through a godfather, do let me know beforehand... I'd like some time to de-invest from Kenya and move to Rwanda, Tanzania or even Ethiopia! Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly

2) Do/Did you get any free/discounted upgrades on flights on KQ/Skyteam?
3) Do/Did you get any remuneration [cash/perks/freebies] on KQ?
4) Do you work for KQ?
5) Do you work for a PR firm [ScanGroup, etc]?

@obiero suppose this crap fails to take off immediately after the announcement of reduced loss following disposal of core assets and landing slot at Heathrow airport, will you sell your current stock spontaneously to avert the catastrophe of capital erosion ?

Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Lakini, @Obiero wasn't you who said "a review of 100 bob after 18 years makes people like @vvs state that it's crooked or idiocy.. smh" And then there's the substantial additional fee/tax for international flights.

In KQ's case, GoK is paying back all the tax (& more) it ever made from KQ. Meanwhile, @Obiero's buddy Alex is free. Naikuni is free. As are many of KQ's corrupt cabal.

Everybody but the Shareholders make money off KQ.
