Its official

George Thuo no longer a Kenyan MP

Justice Luka Kimaru delivered the blow in his ruling on Friday morning, in which he blamed the defunct Electoral Commission of Kenya’s returning officer of abdicating his statutory duties when he failed to ensure that the candidate signed the forms 16A and 17A.

He ruled that a by-election be held and asked the Interim Independent Electoral Commission (IIEC) to ensure a free and fair exercise.

Poll loser William Kabogo had filed the election petition, claiming it was flawed.

Mr Thuo won the seat by 52,321 votes against Mr Kabogo's 32,987 during the election in 2007.

He becomes the fourth MP in the 10th Parliament to lose his parliamentary seat through an election petition. The others are Chirau Ali Mwakwere (Matuga), James Magara (South Mugirango) and Joel Onyancha (Bomachoge)

This casts serious doubts on the PRESIDENTIAL votes as well! Shame on you

The Judiciary appears keen to redeem its image by hearing and determing this petitions much faster than the last time 2002-2007 when we went to elections with some election petition still pending.
Maybe u can hurry up a snail after all.
