Last time I checked Kenya had 3 arms of govt. Executive, Legislature and Judiciary. By cord insisting that outcome of the proposed select committee cannot be challenged in parliament but has to be adopted ‘wholesale’ and implemented ‘as is’, cord is effectively forming a fourth arm of govt.
In fact, though cord have all along denied they are looking for nusu mkate, this is real nusu mkate through back door since, cord will actually govern us and determine our state of affairs through this committee. It will be like a 4th arm of govt. Nobody should agree to such bizarre proposal.

And on the matter of membership, why did jubilee buckle and accept to reduce the number from 11?
I thought 11 was very good idea as this is about the number you would expect all regions to be represented so as to really reflect the diversity of the people of Kenya? Anything less than 9 from either side is not representative enough. In fact there is no justification to go for 7.

And I have never seen such bizarre thing….continuing to insist to hold demonstrations that you know will turn violent, even after Jubilee have agreed to the dialogue, when these demonstrations are resulting into loss of property and even death, is actually to gluttonously express glee like a fool when your neighbor is hurting by your very actions. Actually it is dancing on the graves, sorry to say this.

"Exerting pressure" by a few fellows dying and whole towns being vandalised is sure way of getting nusu slice. We can't call it as it is RAO project sabotage Uhuru to.

I need to hear the voices of RAO's supporters. Why so quiet? Do you support what he's doing?

Many have seen the folly, even his own MPs who he's shown the contempt card are dead quiet. The only guys still hanging out are goons paid to cause violence and a few footsoldiers who've been asked to hide the 'kings' nakedness

RAO isn't in the mood for elections next year, even if his whole family were to constitute the IEBC.

We have a little less than 14 months till the next elections. RAO wants delays upon delays, which will make it practically impossible to hold the elections next year, leading to a constitutional crisis followed (he hopes) by nusu.

@ash, we need the correct narrative to be told. I.e. 1) we now know what cord acronym stands for - coalition for riots and destruction. 2) the demonstrations are highly unpopular. Like in nairobi, a city of 3m residents, only 1-200 goons actually show up. The rest do not show up as they dont support. 3) The demonstrations are about formation of parallel govt or nusu mkate. That's why he doesn't want parliament to have any role. 4) lop would not mind if country burns, if this will assure him some mkate. That's why he would go on with riots even when govt has already accepeted calls for discussion. Otherwise what is Monday demo for now that govt has already accepted to talk about iebc????

I'm not saying this because I'm necessarily a Raila supporter, but it's possible that a constitutional path for example, can be limited by its own logic to the extent of ineffectiveness and that even a fourth arm of government may be necessary.

This guy always has to be in govt? In 97 it was kanu-ndp merger..where he went on to destroy KANU 4rom within. In 02 it was mou. In 07 it was nusu mkate. But in '13 we had passed new katiba akachanganyikiwa kidogo. But getting into '17 its now fourth arm of govt. History repeats itself. But this time I don't think he will make it
