There is absolutely nothing to worry about with cords "riots", the constitution is clear, the outstanding majority (even using latest polls) so far support jubilee by far unlike 2007 when people were really divided, and beyond luoland, it is just wetangula hanging on a helicopter with a tribalist coffin inside, kalonzo is completely finished in ukambani, so it is all about controlling a small 'tribalism movement' misusing poor people from kibera, rather than constitutionally developing them, with minimal support, there are unfortunate causalities within this tribal movement from the tribe, "tribal fundamentalist" ready to die for their tribe, but Uhuru did a fantastic job at staying tribal neutral even with his appointments to government and followed the constitution (except in usurping police powers through parliament) that not even a single MCA who has enjoyed the benefits of devolution can side with tribalism, and cord. CORD is finished, wacheni wasi wasi, let them go inhale teargas till 2032!

Does it mean we are back to square one ? Some of us are still optimistic we can jump this iebc hurdle without all this drama.

First did Uhuru and Rao discuss the iebc at state house ? Then even if they did, who appoints muthama to such a panel ? And who gives ultimatums to a sitting president ? And why is wsr and munyori buku taking a combative stance ?

@murchr saidia hapa. I have a feeling fate has put Hon.Samuel chepkonga at a critical turning point in a nation's history. He is the only guy with real power to act, and has shown interest to do the right thing.

I am surprised that you are surprised!

Of course they know the quantity that Muthama is. They also know how much of a repellant he is to the other side. Any well meaning group wouldn't appoint such a guy in such a panel.

Besides why won't they work with the Chepkonga committee (much as he is not my fovourite MP)and spare us the running battles in town that are likely to result in injuries if not death!

Remember the DIALOGUE demands of 2014 or thereabouts! What became of it after all the brouhaha.

Cord is planning to revive demands for a parliamentary system with an executive Prime Minister and a ceremonial President.

The opposition has been demonstrating every Monday since April for electoral reforms but a secret document seen by Star shows that Cord has much larger ambitions.

The draft document prepared by a team of Cord lawyers is due to be discussed by the Cord co-principals this month after which it will form the basis of the proposed negotiations between Jubilee and Cord over electoral reform.

No discussions took place, they were called to attend the lunch and a photo opportunity. What meaningful decision can come across with Muthama on the negotiating table? Anyway, if the President was/is to constitute such a commitee meeting, with that as an agenda he can be impeached for usurping the powers of the legislature.
