Management is a science though in Kenya companies are run like political parties. It is appalling being at the top of the company without the ability to pin-point challenges down the ladder.

@maka, It is good, the report have been leaked to the media so that everyone can interrogate. Both Alex and Ngunze have been mentioned adversely ( approved the Dubai bank account opening and a fuel bank guarantee over and above the limit set). Time will tell how Alex convinced Ngunze to sign off without being checked against the laid down procedures and policies. If they were not colluding to defraud the Company then I do not know. Why and how nobody noticed fuel procurement being done very late leaves a lot of questions for the management to answer.

hence the best time to load up. KQ is undergoing transformation. but ngunze is clueless on media relations. pathetic handling of all allegations against him and the firm. there he has failed the shareholders. he should be bold enough to tackle the matters raised in an interview not via press releases. if I was the captain the share price would be above rights Issue price. to ensure shareholder unrest is constrained. how on earth will he make it to the next AGM. I don't think he will be there, honestly...

@Ebenyo - Are you serious???

At the time, Safaricom was not only making profits, it was GROWING profits. It was the industry leader. Everything was okay. The price was because of market emotions, not fundamentals.

On the other hand, Kenya Airways is more broke than @Obiero. Actually, no single Kenyan is as broke as Kenya Airways!!! They are at negative equity and GROWING LOSSES!!!

It is definitely criminal to compare the two!!!

A loss. Key letter -> A

Now list KQ's Profits/Losses for 2010 - 2015 and compare. I think that is the point @Ericsson wanted you to see. I guess.

Price and company are not corelated.

Emotions and price are corelated. Otherwise we would be in a perfect market where value is what u paid.

NBK though it's not in a bad situation like KQ. Actually KQ can't be a benchmark coz it's at the bottom of the pit.

Shame on you Shame on you Shame on you
Safaricom vs KQ.
Michael Joseph vs Titus Naikuni.
Profits vs Losses.
MJ took over a 'dead' firm & grew into a giant which he handed to BC while TN took over a profitable firm and almost killed it before handing it over to MN.

Safcom went public at 5/- and is now 17/-.
KQ went public at 11.25 (then a Rights at 14) and is now 3.85

Mambo ndio hiyo.
