I doubt bloomberg is a republican.
Bloomberg is a three time mayor of New York, twice on a Republican ticket and each time winning strong support from Republican voters.
In theory a serious run by Bloomberg would require Republican support from where he can appeal to moderate Democrats who are put off by that disgusting woman Hillary.
republicans are conservatives.... this could mean at least one of 3 thing
1) fiscal conservative - i.e. you don't want government to touch your cash i.e. small government (a government that has a very small footprint)
2) socially conservative - i.e. you don't want so many changes in religion, culture, laws that are permissive. They want no one getting killed before birth (abortion) but want people to be executed (death sentence).
of course there are democrats who are on the mirror opposites of all those people. So many rich people especially if they inherited stuff and are from the south are republican and give to the republican party because it supports a belief they have... small government and the bible thumping aspect of the party is an annoyance they can live with.
