Why do people take human lives so casually? it's not repeatable...... how many people have been resurrected from the dead? almost 2 people die a second on the planet... it may not seem like a large number coz we are thinking at a statistic level. But their families don't think of them as statistics in much the same way your kid does not think of you as a statistic!!! does your son fill in a form and say ... "I have 1 father or 1 mother"? Look at it from the perspective of your son or daughter.... ask yourself - what would be their life like if you we to leave the planet so unceremoniously? so sudden? so carelessly? look at their lives 10-15 years from now... who will they be because some police man with anger issues decided to step on your neck? These are human lives not statistics!

All said and done, today the police were too brutal. I wonder why??? This was totally unnecessary. The number of policemen who descended on this particular guy was scaring. What exactly had he done? And whatever he had done, arresting him was totally within their control.

Exactly the picture that CORD wanted the world to see.

Does any of the #CORDDemo organizers know the whereabouts of this poor guy?
will RAO foot the medical bills for his rehabilitation because for sure if he survived he must be a vegetable Sad Sad Sad

@Siringi, his name is "Ngare". Does it ring a bell in your head what that means? Now those hooligans taking advantage of demos to rob and loot are slowly being known...

Is it only me who finds it weird with some reasoning? Ati this guy deserves what he went through because he was accused of being a thug who threw stones at the police. Police ought to punish him on the spot; no due process

YET

Individuals who are accused of stealing of billions from our coffers thus putting our country into much more problems should be allowed to go through the due process of the law?

Gosh.

I am beginning to think that people on both sides are really deceiving themselves. THIS IS A HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUE! FULL STOP!! it doesn't matter what he did... it doesn't matter who he was.... THERE IS A REASON MATURE DEMOCRACIES HAVE DUE PROCESS. this guy should have been taken through due process.... the society that you and I are part off should ensure that... I AM SADDENED BY BOTH SIDE'S BEHAVIOUR BEFORE AND AFTER THE NAME OF THE PERSON MATERIALIZED... This guy had a life to live... just as complex as yours... do you have kids? if so... he may have had kids like you... do you love your kids? To what level? he may have loved his kids to the same level. Do you have relatives? who love you? Friends? Spouses? Mpango wa Kandos? Work mates? Do you have aspirations? SAME THING TO THIS GUY!! THIS GUY IS NOT 'KIKUYU' he is Mr Ngari.... an individual just like you.... look around your life and look at the lives you touch and those who touch you. HE HAD A SIMILAR LIFE. He is not a statistic! Shame on you!!

Many year later someone will write like you wrote on the maumau fiasco

Kuna watu hapa watakumaliza ukisema hivyo. I have always told people that the Mau Mau thingy was a waste of time, resources and lives. Useless struggle. Other than unknowingly setting up the Hola massacre and subsequent recognition by the british parliament of atrocities being metted on the native population by sir evelyn baring gava - it served no purpose! everything could have been sorted out politically as it was finally done! The former colonial masters were handing out independence like free cakes. there a period of time between June and August 1960 that so many countries got their independence. a waste of lives! but the narrative has been perpetuated about these heros who killed about 70 wazungus and thousands of africans. I feel nothing but pity for them and their misdirected efforts.

I watched that cop beating up the poor guy and all I wondered was what could he have done. But, even more important is that there is total silence from the IG, Nkaiserry and off course the President on this very important issue.

This cop helps no one as has been articulated by many in previous posts, he broke ranks and acted on his own to take a persons life, he should be charged with Manslaughter at the very least.

As someone wrote somewhere, next time, he will be breaking into your house to kill you and plant damning evidence.

Thanks @washiku. Do guys realise police reforms are good for everybody ? 14 people were killed on 7July 1997. 6 of them were from the then kikuyu constituency.

2022 is not far. And you know who will be Jubilee's candidate. And nyumba will go back to opposition again. I love the way history repeats itself.
