Compare DAR and MBA port stats.
MBA serves an entry port to Uganda and Rwanda
DAR serves as an entry port to Rwanda Lusaka etc

Success depends on the volumes expected to move via these ports,all linked to upcoming development projects in the region.
Politics is a big influencer.
Rwanda's success depends on the political stability of TZ and Kenya who control entry points.
Bureaucracy in Dar and MBA ports equal in measure.
If Kenya wants to make Mba attractive to investors as the port of entry let them start by weeding out bad practices magufuli style.

So... lets ask ourselves... if you were UG or Rwanda or a business man in any of those countries - who would you chose?
A) A country that offers a shorter distance but is riddled with corruption at every stop. making your cost of goods go off the roof and one which is occasionally disrupted by political noise making and railway uprooting and blocking of roads.
B) a country that offers a slightly longer distance but is stable in all meanings of the word. They don't have a history of being unpredictable and they just got a president who is making everyone who is in gava tow the line.

Let's face it! We have all been in a situation where we wanted to find a path between buildings (assume a road on the otherside). We know of a certain "worosho". Short, stinky (coz walevis piss on it). it's dirty and with jualas everywhere and some gum sniffing chokoras who's first statement is always a slow, drunken and deep voiced -
