We have a police force with anger issues and when these are vented on an individual we have the results of that being what we witnessed. it was wrong on all channels.

There is a group of people I avoid at all costs because I dont want to die a senseless death.
Cops top the list.So why provoke such when you know very well utatandikwa sawasawa? The image hasn't changed.
Be a hero, wear baton/bullet proof gear and develop running/climbing skills before taking to the streets.
It's not for the faint hearted who run away at the sound of teargas and when cornered seek sympathy.

The savagery displayed by the police, especially in that clip where they continuously clobbered and kicked a man lying still on the ground is beyond words!

Reading some comments here of people supporting police brutality, I can only shake my head.

Have we forgotten 7th July 1997, when police entered the all saints cathedral and shot people right inside the church ? But of course some members here were still holding onto their mothers skirts then so it's understandable.

Why is it that during the 10 years of kibaki's rule, such incidents would not be tolerated ? Why is that during kibaki's time everything was working. Even road fatalities went down without a useless authority(ntsa).

Am glad Nyeri leaders have realised they have to provide leadership to this country. Four mps issued a statement yesterday asking iebc to go home. It should be remembered it's the same leaders who joined Kenyans in asking waiguru to go home.

Does that mean the blind sycophancy does not affect nyeri leaders ? No. But Nyerians will always do the right thing and to hell with political correctness.

Am missing something in your point.

Where is Nyeri leadership coming from in this discussion?

During Kibakis reign the #Powerhungry# chief goon had 1/2 Elliots so there was no need for riots.

Police ni wale wale tu.
Remember the protection accorded the mamulukis.
During PEV police brutality was at the peak.
Apart from numerous deaths caused by the police, there was that incident in Kisumu where a police guy acted in exactly the same way as the one we saw yesterday - kicking a man on the ground.
And who was in state house then!

That cop is on his own wait and see..He will be in court alone and will be charged alone...gone are the days you do such crap to ordinary citizens.

Soma my "signature"! while I agree with your prudence as an individual if you found yourself in a situation like that - that should not be a national policy! The cops SHOULD NOT BEHAVE THIS WAY! REGARDLESS of what the guy did!

All said and done, today the police were too brutal. I wonder why??? This was totally unnecessary. The number of policemen who descended on this particular guy was scaring. What exactly had he done? And whatever he had done, arresting him was totally within their control.

Exactly the picture that CORD wanted the world to see.
