The interview was just hilarious and sad at the same time:

Q: You said Obama is your cousin. is that right?

Baba: I was misquoted.

Q: You have opposed African presidents seeking a 3rd term but you campaigned for Museveni. Aren't those double standards?

Baba: I didn't campaign for Museveni, I only joined him in his campaign tour.

I dont remember seeing @baba even joining @Mu7ni in his copmaigns...but I vividly remember @Ruto compaigning for @Mu7ni.

Seems phombe is eating megabites in your memory.

In the interview he said that he has no regrets for the 1300 killed in 2007. That democracy is expensive.

This is classic "Totalitarian" thinking and a text book example for "shrinks" studying politicians minds. Totalitarianism is the ideology of absolute power, or "anything for power" and this is the only political training Raila got in his communist endevors, he has made a similar statement to the press, that he is only after power.

Katiba reason (borrowed) is in history and political science studies, the worst of the totalitarian governments, by far have been the socialist. Socialist self-righteousness like Raira, who have "other" special "magical" political means other than constitutionalism, democracy, e.t.c they potray a desire to radically reconstruct the fundamental institution of society like katiba (throwing out the institutional evolution and cultural learning of generations), including democracy in ODM, the belief that those who disagree are evil, and that one must "break eggs to make an omelet," have led to monumental democide (a goverment killing his own people), as for example by the Soviet Union (about 61 million murdered), Mao's China (about 35 million), and so on for all the communist regimes, as well as the nationalist socialists like Germany (21 million), state socialist like Burma, Baathists like Syria and Hussein's Iraq, socialist Libya, and so on.

By 1900-1987, totalitarian regimes murdered about 138 million (communist regimes about 110 million out of 169 million overall governments. Democracies murdered 2 million (149 thousand domestic, mainly due to the Spanish Civil War)"

In brief in Rairas mind people dying for him to get "power" is ok, infact he can even kill millions to maintain this power if he gets it! Rwanda was not a coincidence! He can even perform human sacrifices at a witchdoctors place to get "power", anything for power!

Cornered kabisa. Eaten alive.

In fairness, difficult for almost anyone to perform (Kenyan, international, government, opposition) against https://twitter.com/mehdirhasan in such a format. He refers to written references, no preparation in advance for Raila, and court cross-examination format in front of a large town-hall audience.

An Oxford debate contest, not an interview.
