Did we have religion uko 5000BC? if you look at human anthropology... religion is a new thing but spirituality is not. Human beings have always believed of something greater. Think of it as a black box. It was(is) the answer to the questions we cannot figure out. Where did all these things we see come from? Where do the dead go? Where do the young come from? Who causes it to rain? e.t.c. Refer to my "known-knowns, known - unknowns" argument. we had a black box to answer the questions related to the "known - unknowns" aspect of our lives or the world we lived in. So back to around 10,000 years ago - humans started settling down. We had societies around agriculture and even laws came up. However, when humans tend to live together for a while - we have issues with each other. Someone steals someone else's camel or sheep. you sleep with someone else's daughter or even worse 'wife' and the all seeing God had to be reintroduced. so organized religion started taking it's place in ensuring that human beings lived "harmoniously" with each other. this has had many rounds of changes to get us to where we are. I actually think religion is useful... I think the belief in something greater makes us transcend our limitations. especially if your environment is really bad/detrimental for development! At the same time I have serious questions about religion and one of the biggest that I cannot reconcile is why the Almighty, having created such a super massive universe (perhaps miltiverses) be interested in a tiny speck known as Earth and even zero down on one species (humans) out of billions out there and be interested in their behaviour and even want to punish those who don’t behave in a certain way. It is completely incomprehensible. a good way to think of it is - why he/she would want to regulate the use of your genitals? or refrain from thing such as shaving the hair on the side of your head only. In fact if you add the figures in the entire far east then 2.5 billion strong are non believers.Did you know that Japan has the most virgin ladies past 30 years in the world, even Saudia cant match this, per capita!!! Is religiousity(sic) the same as spirituality? Portfolio: Sold You know you've made it when you get a parking space for your yatcht.

To the religious here, let me say this:
Like @masukuma said, you are all atheist+1. You see the incredulousness in all the other religions except yours. As a matter of fact, you also know that your own religion has some ridiculous things in it, but you blind yourself to the ridiculousness for various reasons.
Say for example, if your wife came home today and said to you "honey, I'm pregnant but I haven't had sex with anyone." You'd certainly kick her out for insulting your intelligence. But for some reason you block out the same logic when it comes to your religion. You know ni ujinga but you just refuse to accept.

i am talking about the journey that got us "here"! plus the reason Shainese don't believe is coz of the mao communism era! same as russians. Japan's virgin stat is only a spiritual trophy worth lifting up and bragging about in a culture where virginity is a "spiritual" metric! it seems like the society does not care so much since Japan's age of consent is like 14 years or something. So it would be impressive to us to have many virgins and other middle eastern religions but to a culture that celebrates sex as part of their spirituality e.g. ancient greece or rome would be haram. The man god. The god of self.

All you atheists, anti-theists and thinkers as you call yourselves.
Consider this a provocation.
As this great controversy rages, when all is said and done it will boil down to this single point - if your week is 7 days long, then you are nothing more than noisy good for nothing empty diebes.
Think about it. No, really, think about it.

I am really struggling to understand why a Christian would be bothered whether an atheist group is registered or not.
