Don't know if this has already been reported elsewhere, but tucked away in a notice in the 26 February issue of the Kenya Gazette is a statement that Sky Broadband (K) and Wired Sky Technologies Ltd. have applied for ISP, cable provider and network facilitation provider licenses.

Could this be Rupert Murdoch's Sky Plc. (owners of Sky Broadband) looking for entry into Kenya to compete with Zuku, Safcom's black box etc.?Drool

Or has someone simply 'stolen' the name?

According to CAK statistics for the period October 1 to December 31 2015 Airtel and Orange have eaten into Safaricom's mkt share.

and which market is this definitely not mpesa. for data i do understand safcom is hated.they refuse to listen to their customers now customers are migrating to airtel unliminet.the way safaricom is so sluggish in digging into the data market is worrying.mpesa wount be the cash cow forever.they just donot want to see past mpesa

Laughing out loudly Don't laugh at my beloved Kenya Gazette- it is the official voice of government and more digital than all those analogue papers you've mentioned.
