This was just a normal business article about a failing business but I could not help but marvel at just how times have changed. Consider the historical context of these 2 sentences and see if you find this as interesting as I do:

England and Wales.
Unions criticised the government for not sending a minister to
India to lobby for the plants to be kept open.
50 or even 20 years ago this would have been unthinkable. That the British are now sending officials to India to lobby on behalf of British workers is very interesting indeed. For a proud Briton who lived in the times when the sun never set on the British Empire this must be very humiliating.
