Somebody read this reply by Mutava Musyimi for us

Kenya is not perfect and should be made better.

But one cannot simply break up the nation every time their candidate loses an election much as if every couple divorced after a quarrel, there would be no married couples left on earth.

My pleasure

Mutava Musyimi used a full 1/3rd of his article to discuss the character of David Ndii. A tabia you are all too familiar with.

Instead of talking about the issue, talk about the person.

If we were to talk about Musyimi, we would have a whole thread here.

The main point of contention here is this statement

If Uhuru Kenyatta is declared winner in another sham election, this country will burn.”

All people are talking about is the final 4 words.

I think if you can read and I hope you can, Ndii's article was talking about a sham election.

He believes there are chances it will happen.

He suggests that "if" it does happen, it will not be a good thing.

Now you can go around those statements as much as you wish, but its obvious from the comments on the article, most Kenyans understood what he was saying.

But its ok, read what you wish.

That article is one that you shall be reading and re-reading for a very very very long time. Meaning that even you are a bit worried about it.

Now that's what I call literature.

By the way, I don't support him. I believe marriages can survive the worst if families join hands as used to happen in African communities and found a solution for both.

But I'm not silly enough to just ignore what others are saying.

What's a 'sham election'? Will breaking up Kenya into smaller states guarantee non-sham elections?

If we have 'sham elections' next year, how will Kenya burn? Who will sustain the fire? Or will it be an uncontrolled fire burning in some places or everywhere?

From my perspective, nothing much is likely to happen even if the elections are declared a sham.

So far, political reasoning seems to be based on archaic terms, new ways of thinking are needed and they're already developing especially among the youth, and along the use of technology.

I recommend that we read this book, 'The dictator's handbook' it's on PDF, to get a glimpse of our political game and how to move forward. Especially for those who aren't so bent on some politician winning ...

It depends on what goggles you wear at a particular time.

If you lose, its a sham election.

Sometimes I wonder when we shall never have sham elections. Even Donald Trump in November will be screaming sham election.

Like the book by the way.

Yes, and you go back to siaya. Then you will have to apply for a "foreigners" work permit and visa for your job in Nairobi, and also apply for transit visas from kericho govt, nakuru govt, kiambu govt to enable you travel from siaya to nbi for work. That is if you will still have a job in the okuyu and maasai run nairobi govt.

Of course Ndii didnt mean that Kenya gets balkanised literally.

He must have been more interested in thought provoking than anything else.

That way the article makes sense, otherwise no right thinking person would truly advocate for breaking the Country up in that manner.

Good article for its academic value.
Just as absolute power corrupts leaders, so does absolute fanaticism blind the people from logic
