Sweetener to shore up the share price

Quote:
The directors will also recommend, subject to regulatory and shareholders' approvals, a bonus issue in the proportion of 1 new ordinary share for every 9 fully paid up ordinary shares then held, to the shareholders register at the close of business on 22 April 2016. Such new shares will rank pari passu in all respects with the existing shares in the capital of the Bank except for the aforementioned dividends and any further dividend paid prior to the bonus issue.
Pesa Nane plans to be shilingi when he grows up.

I was expecting such type of results from the banking sector for full year(give or take) but they keep postponing judgement day.

With the exception of scbk results the rest are either flattish or still positive year on year.

2016 and 2017 will be equally tough or worse, better to bite the bullet sooner rather than later.

NBK will post phenomenal results...

The British banks are now governed by completely different rules (IFRS9, Basel III) to Kenyan banks and hence the continuing underperformance...
