Take for example the case of commissioners being paid Ksh 35m which is higher than what president Obama makes. Sarah Serem who is in charge of salaries claims she was not told about it. Which means there must have been a backroom deals. Why does'nt the president address this by ordering an inquiry and using the results of the inquiry to fire people or force them to step down.
Why for example can't the government find out who benefited from Waiguru's ksh 450,000 condom dispenser. whichever contractor benefited can be banned from doing business with gava. Whomever signed this deal should be fired with cause.
The gava is wasting so much money on wages and on corrupt deals. This is money that can be used to add more streetlights or even security cameras to prevent you from being mugged. Or it can be used to put more equipment in Kenyan hospitals or even build wider roads to alleviate traffic. you name it.
Kenyans penchant for tribal sycophancy and excusing corruption and waste is why you are constantly stuck in traffic, are being mugged and cannot get decent treatment medical treatment in Kenya.
All the good doctors have gone to Botswana, New Zealand and elsewhere because gava would rather pay Ksh 35m to commissioners who negotiate backroom deals instead of doctors who can save lives. Don't worry. tribalism and corruption are ending in 2017 elections because Nyanza & Western are leading in new voter registration that is old strategy, 2013 strategy of winning elections, 2017 will be diferent. I hear the japs are calling it the soft strategy And there goes !lonest again, thinking along tribal lines as usual Kudos @Alba for a good piece Our innocent Imam, the nationalist, the shining example We should all ape this man! BTW, did that jealous tribe you alleged that was attacking Easich stop being jealous or they were given some biz, Mr Peaceful Nationalist Imam?? Nyani haoni...!!

On this one I agree with @Alba. Our Govt has shown unrivalled incompetence and or unwillingness to fight corruption. I don't buy the excuse that Pork is powerless in the fight against sleaze, rather it is the political price he is not willing to pay. Isuni yilu yi maa me muyo - ni Mbisuu

In my opinion, the fight on graft will always fail as long as we have tribal coalitions disguised as political parties/movements. Right now the President can't take any action against members of the DP's party because he has a coalition to protect. Same goes for RAO who chose to keep quiet when some key members of his coalition were linked to graft.

on a slightly different note, I happened to go to Kijabe hospital the other day and I was appalled by the condition of the road (or whatever remains of it), access to one of the most important hospital in the country is in shambles, and then the stupid contractor went ahead and closed the road heading to the hospital ati they were leveling the dirt road.
stupid men, turning back sick patients just because they were leveling a dirt road, and they have been there forever, just leveling dirt, this is a crap government. come 2017 the guys will be singing sycophantic songs for their tribal lords. sad

You don't know baba's childhood buddy, the one who was busy entertaining m7 the other day snatching the oil pipeline deal from under our noses. He has learnt very quick that you flow with what you get, and a deal here a kickback there is not necessarily a bad thing.
