For a crappy team with no goalkeeper or striker their achievement so far is nothing short of a miracle. Imagine where they'd be if they had strikers and goalkeepers like the rest?Applause

BBI will solve it

We play the best football in Europe (maybe second to Barca), the club is in great shape (Financially), we are the fairest club in the premier league(tackles-fact), one of the top scoring clubs in Europe (without a striker), probably the youngest team in the EPL (average age of 22)......thats why every season we are the loudest and probably most optimistic fans around, trophy or no trophy!

In this world optimism is just useless fantassy and all the rest are just wishful imaginations.

Bayern really suprised me last night, not only did they win but they also outplayed their opponents. That was quite a performance especially without the likes of Robben.:d/

On other issues Rooney injured his ankle badly and is expected to be out for sometime but he will definitely not play any part in Saturday's game....from what i saw Ferguson would consider himself lucky if Rooney plays in the return CL match at Old Trafford.

I think SAF got the tactics all wrong yesterday...I don't see how you can start defending after scoring a goal in the 66th second! He tried to change tac in the 2nd half but by that time Bayern already had the upper hand and capitalized on a sleepy Evra who had the worst game ever!

We played crappy football, (40% possession) though we could have scored 2 goals, Rooney missed a glorious chance when you'd expect him to score and Vidic hit the post. All in all, an away goal is better than none - what scares me is the Rooney injury.I doubt he'll play on Sato and even though we beat Bolton without him, Chelshit ain't Bolton! He even looks doubtful for the return and I'm sure Robben will be back by then so we have just made things difficult for ourselves. Shame the way Van Der Sar made great saves then a blunder costs us a draw at Allianz!

Sato Man Utd wakishinda I doubt we'll be caught again by the chasing pack. For now, let's see what Barca will get at Emirates - I'm actually fearing the worst for Assnali but then again this is the CL!

Ukweli lazima usemwe.....The best team on the night took it.

Got no idea what happens when teams play away from 'home'. I put home in quotes because a good number of these players should actually not consider England as 'home'. So whether playing at home or away should really not feel so different....This should be so despite the difference in crowd atmosphere.

What can i say about my prediction on an early goal by Rooney....Perhaps it came too early!
IF YOU EXPECT ME TO POST ANYTHING POSITIVE ABOUT ASENO, YOU MAY AS WELL SIT ON A PIN

Luckily Arsenal are going into this match as the underdogs, nobody is giving them a chance. Barca has everything to lose and that's an excellent position for Arsenal to be in.

2012...thats my point exactly, Arsenal are under no pressure to win tonight's match.

Mwenza....Bayern exploited the flanks because Nani, Park and Neville were being caught out of position everytime.

good display of mental strength by bayern following the early goal. arjen robben will be back by the return leg so i expect an even more entertaining game. hope rooney would have been back by then but doubtful.

Who is the best forward in the world? i guess we now have an answer?

WHAT ARE THE CASTROL RANKINGS?

Rooney, Ronaldo, Kaka, Messi... Just who is the current best player in the world?
Castrol Rankings give you the definitive answer based on the actual performances of every football player across Europe's top five leagues over a rolling 12-month period.
Using the latest technology Castrol's team of analysts capture data on every Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Champions League match.
Every touch of the ball is tracked and players are awarded a Castrol Index score based on whether they have had a positive or negative impact on their team's ability to score or concede a goal.

@Ric, basically what you're trying to point out is that Rooney is not as good as he's made out to be?

Rankings are rankings, even FIFA has rankings for the world cup but we'll see to what effect they have on the performance of teams. In my books, Rooney remains one of the most dangerous strikers in the world, not THE but one of THE...and if we go by top ten of Castrol then I'm not too far.

Anyway, like McReggae says, game iko half time, but what a poor first half from Man Utd! We'd better have recovered by Sato otherwise...

I foresee Bayern coming to OT and playing an offensive game.Their defense will be more comfortable in the absence of Rooney (Demichellis will be a free man),their midfield remains solid and well, the striking force will be sharper given Robben is back....My unbiased take. It's over for Man!!....

Bad news.....Rooney out for up to 4 weeks!!

Ngai! League will almost be over by then! Na Mungu atuweke mahali pema peponi, unless Berbatov can show what he's really made of a la Bolton. But CL will be a hard proposition without the marauding Rooney...

It's 2:0 at 60 minutes. Ibrahimovic twice. Arsenal cannot win this one!
