Safaricom to start testing 4G, Zain still at EDGE

Safaricom plans to start testing super-fast fourth generation (4G) services on its network later this year. 4G offers speeds of upto 1Gb/s. This should be good news to consumers and shareholders.

Great, but I think this is not the issue. The issue (according to me) is the outrageous prices despite the landing of THREE internet cables of which they have interests in two.

Bravo Safaricom! But this is like someone beginning the fourth lap of a race while everyone is still half-way on the second lap.

Competition benefits both customers and market players, poor performers benefit the leader only.

Can you blame him? What with Nation first announcing OCampo has failed and quickly deleting clip to correct themselves according to @mkonomtupu
