It took some "disrespect" to the president by Joho, for the law to be enforced.

Disrespect has consequences kweli...

If all this "disrespect" leads to "pharmacy" shutdown, it would be a good thing for the country.

More "disrespect"! pleeeeeeeeaaase!

Police on Tuesday closed down two container freight stations owned by Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho’s family despite a court order stopping the Kenya Revenue Authority from interfering with the businesses.

Port OCPD Zacchaeus Ng’eno said officers had been instructed to close down the two businesses despite a court order. He did not mention who ordered the closure.

On Monday, the High Court stopped the KRA from closing down Autoports Freight Terminals Limited and Portside Freight Terminals Limited or stop the companies from conducting their operations pending the hearing and determination of the cases.

“The company (Portside Freight Terminals Limited) is allowed to challenge KRA’s decision to suspend its licence. In the meantime, a stay is granted suspending the respondent’s decision to stop the company’s operations until the suit is heard and determined,” ruled Justice PJ Otieno.

KRA officials have found 20 containers of contraband sugar at Autoport Container Freight Station which is associated with Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.

The consignment, which had been declared as floor sanding machines and related hardware tools, has an estimated tax value of Sh36 million, said Grace Wandera, Marketing and Communication deputy commissioner.

She said in a statement on Wednesday that Kenya Revenue Authority officials carrying out a probe at the station reported that the sugar was from Brazil.

And the last part says... Joho was later given 36 hours to allow owners of cargo stored at the stations to evacuate after clearance with customs.

He is not the owner. He only provides storage.

This is akin to a lorry being found ferrying bangi and the lorry owner saying he's not the owner of the bangi, that he only provides transport. (And in johos case it, seems all the bangi traders know which lorry to hire.)

Am not here to defend Joho because am sure he is capable of defending himself.
However contraband refers to goods that may normally owned but are liable to be seized because they were used in committing an unlawful act.

I was not aware bangi can be normally owned.
