United Women Sacco shares @16.50%

Really? Kwani what rates do they lend at?

Trick is to ensure very many topups and charge the member full term interest from the amount you will disburse.E.g for a 4yr loan ensure they come for topup on year 2 but charge interest as though they took full term from the topup you disburse.Somewhat illegal though.

Women borrow heavily and pay diligently!!! Minimal bad and doubtful debts!!!

OOOOH , now in understand . So this 24% in not a real one since you need money both in shares and deposits to get it.

In effect you just get 12%. No wonder some one said money does no grow on trees

There is a huge big difference between stima sacco and stima investment cooperative.

These are two different entities and have different boards .stima sacco is involved in lending money to members and Fosa or bosa while the other one is just lands ,houses and maybe other investment ventures .

Most Saccos have an avarage of 7-15% dividends while investments are higher than that.

Faced with the choice to re-invest SACCO rebates, dividends to Sacco deposits or shares which is the most prudent option?

SACCO deposits
1. Boost borrowing power to x3 re-invested amount.
2. Earns lower interest on deposit compared to SACCO shares.
3. When you want to quit SACCO you can just withdraw all the deposit (T's & C's applying).

SACCO shares.
1. Earns higher interest
2. Cannot borrow against SACCO shares.
3. Cannot sell SACCO shares i.e no open share sell market (it is a SACCO NOT investment co-operative)...so you are sort of locked in forever.
