Theres nowhere in the affidavit that it says Waiguru took any money from this lady. So newspaper headlines screaming that "Waiguru was behind NYS scandal" are false and malicious. Waiguru should sue the newspapers.

Boss she is a thief...just accept that...

Can you quote any part of the affidavit that says Waiguru received any of the 791m?

I am still waiting for evidence that she is a thief. Maybe you should read the damn affidavit instead of relying on twitter and hashtags and Alai for info regarding this matter.

Anyway simple, there is no way that amount of money could have been stolen from NYS without the CS knowing.... in Kenya!!! Truth, what truth?

The plot thickens:

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption
Commission yesterday said it would
revisit the NYS scandal as
inconsistencies emerged from an
affidavit filed in court on Monday by
businesswoman Josephine Kabura.
There were also fresh allegations that
some personalities at State House keen
to block former Devolution CS Anne
Waiguru from a proposed job in charge
of budget making could be behind the
claims in the affidavit.

There are now claims that people within
the Presidency were involved in the
drafting of the new affidavit by Kabura,
a key suspect in the alleged NYS scam.

Yesterday, Waiguru said that she was
being targeted because she had been
cleared by the EACC and there was talk
that she would return to government.
“The same cartel has been looking to
stop me from returning to government
or going for political office,” Waiguru
said.
One of the inconsistencies in the Kabura
affidavit is that Waiguru introduced her in 2014 to Aden Harakhe of NYS.
Harakhe was in fact not working at NYS
then, and was at the time a district
commissioner in Bungoma. He joined
the Devolution ministry at the end of
February 2015.
Waiguru has also pointed out that she
could not have met Kabura in Runda in
August last year because by then, she
had moved out of the house and it had a
new occupant.
Waiguru also said that the document is
part of a smear campaign that has been
directed at her for the last two years.

[quote=hindsight]The Waiguru vs NYS Saga Vs The Govt' of the day Vs The institutuions -link to NYS Saga is a very interesting epic case study for generations in near future if not an epic movie. I would love to sit in one of the political class 101 in 10-15 years time.

It's where all mix good and bad interplay in terms of Ethics-Mafia-Opportunity Cost-Poor institutions-Ingenuity-Sycophancy-Corruption and so forth.

What makes it more interesting is the players involved. They are small fish & big fish as well.If you put White Sharks,Gold/Cat fish,Dolphins and even Blue sharks at the same designated waters definitely some will end up dead while others running as far away from the "hot zone".

So what makes these kind of players in NYS saga find themselves in this "hotzone".

It's called GREED! Top it up with some Pride + Power =Self Destruction.

Self destruction is perfected by self preservation and nothing personal just business realization. It's called reaching a point of no return when pushed to the edge. Yes Ms Irungu guilty or not of her deeds has been pushed to the precipice and falling from grace to bottom is just a matter of pooling others so as to cushion the landing consequences literally.

It's very telling that some of the big fish started as VIP in GOVT', then a Power broker, then part of insider circle...with haste to whistle blower roles to early retirement ..to an aspirant of Governorship ...soon after to being "whistle blowered" and being alleged to be the Mastermind of NYS scandal. This is about coming full circle not reinventing one self! it's just mind wrecking if you think about it?

These are the times...that this country needs some serious national pride searching.

Without deviating from subject matter, this comes down to the way our society functions. Capitalism per excellence.

On a lighter note we are yet to even touch other scandals in the making. I believe some river wood/holly wood directors need to start scouting for rights from Kenya film board to do a movie/documentary of 21st century of Success amidst murky cartels in Kenya runaway financial trench lines. They can make a kill...and toss the hit records of likes of the wall street,The insider etc to archives.

it's very nolstagic that Goldenberg came and went. Anglo leasing is still on our shadows lurking,Not to mention CBK-Delarue contracts ,Kengen contracts etc.

Whats in the near future ; railway-SGR project,Lamu Port,Oil Processing/contracts ...and ooh 2017 election polls.

Unfortunately that's the Kenya we live in . I do wish we turn a new leave but oops not that quick...we have to pay for we are part of the problem and lets lay on the thorns we gathered back in 2012.

No pun intended!

@Vky,@majimaji-You might have missed it/ignored. Let me be explicit;

Waiguru is a whistleblower. Another whistleblower has blown the whistle on the whistleblower

Here's a possibility: The greater the conflict the more settled and permanent the resolution. Kabura is supposed to work the masses up, stir emotions, offer carthasis so that the masses tire.

I dont get it.

If as per your take there is nothing in the affidavit that is adversarial towards Waiguru, then the narrative of elements in State house having crafted the scheme to pull her down makes little sense, ama!
