Democracy is so transparent in Uganda you can clearly see M7 winning the elections.

Jubilee MPs exporting Kenya tribalism to Uganda and generally meddling in Uganda affairs to prop up a corrupt president is a new low for Kenya. I am guessing they are worried that Bessigye could end up being another Magufuli type who tackles corruption which will make Jubilee look bad. Magufuli is showing that corruption can be tackled. I do not expect the Kenya gava to invite him to Kenya any time soon.
RAO has also previously invited opposition leaders from other countries during his campaigns/odm functions....

If RAO went to foreign countries and promoted Kenyan style tribalism in other countries or helped prop up corrupt leaders then he is also wrong. And shame on him and ODM. You tell us if ODM has done so. I would not have a problem if Jubilee invited museveni to a jubilee function. But encouraging tribal voting in uganda is shameful. Directly meddling to promote a corrupt leader is embarrasing. Jubilee is basically working overtime to infect Uganda with what is essentially Kenya's worst and most debilitating disease.

While i think it's not in our best interest to meddle (publicly) in our biggest trading partner's internal affairs - how is that "exporting tribalism"?

@Masukuma Here are some excerprts from the Daily Nation report
Quote:
The Sabiny and the Nandi from which Mr Ruto comes, belong to the larger Kalenjin group, and it is clear Mr Museveni is keen to play this ethnic card to win over the community where Mbabazi has significant support.
Quote:
“Leadership is about service and should not be abused. Unity among Sabaot (including Sabiny/Sebei in Uganda) is key for development of the region and supporting Museveni is very vital if Sebei is to develop,” the report quotes Mr Ruto to have told the meetings.
These are direct Kenya style tribal appeals aimed at creating tribal blocs and encouraging Ugandans to vote only on tribal basis. So it appears that Museveni was impressed with how leaders in Kenya are elected because they are adept at exploiting tribal rifts. So he wants the master of tribal division to export his trade to Uganda Now if Wetangula ever goes to conduct similar tribal campaigns among the Bagisu or RAO among the Jopadhola or Awori among the Saamia then shame on all involved.

Kenya’s Raila joins Museveni in campaigns.

@Washiku Perhaps you should go past the sensational headline and read the article. It does not say RAO asked Ugandans to vote for anyone. It says he went to Uganda to thank Ugandans for taking him and hosting him when he fled Kenya and also to tell Ugandans to vote wisely. And the article is from 2010 and has no references to tribal appeals so Im not sure how relevant it is to this discussion.

Interestingly enough I was in Kampala during that period of time and my discussions with my designated cab guy on numerous topics including the ethnic dimensions of the election and he told me ethnicity has never been an issue. And yes statements such as
Quote:

are exporting ethnic divisiveness by urging insular thinking and considerations in a country that did not have this as a default. On another note: The Kalenjin superethnic group exists only in Kenya - why? coz it was made up! Kinda like the "Luhyas" - all creations of the Mkoloni. Secondly, also don't use the term 'tribe', use 'ethnic group' since the groups one is talking about are as distinct as the scots, welsh or the catalan!
