I thought this thing on the eateries side was run as a franchise. Can't they sell it? Does the problem lie with the meat wholesaling business?

Yes it is a franchise, I heard them say that they are withdrawing their brand since many of those eateries ar e not meeting their standards in terms of sanitation and food preparation standards If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

Kenchic recently opened a KES 1billion state of the art processing plant in Thika near Ngoliba. They don't need the Kenchic Inns, frankly I'm surprised that they were still franchising them.

How does this franchise thing work exactly?Does the franchisee pay rent for the outlet, pay workers, permits etc..and the franchisor supplies say the raw food, equipment, friers, roasters etc.. and then the profit is shared? Regarding hygiene.I believe the county gov. has a dept. that inspects eating joints every now and then for cleanliness?

The Franchisee pays a periodic or one off payment(depending with the agreement) to the Franchisor The franchisee buys all Kukus(in case of kenchic) from the franchisor and they have to meet some minimum standards of operations set by the franchisor If Obiero did it, Who Am I?
