I am sure Al Shabab worked with informers within the ranks of KDF. And your guess is as good as mine on who the informer(s) was/were. Sad they have sympathizers all over including Wazua.

Then what? More and more body bags keep leaving Somalia back to Kenya. It's time we set a time table on leaving Somalia to another AU country to fill the void and man our bounderies.

Why can't all the opposing forces in somalia ie. somali govt, alkebab, and all other militias, warlords etc all come together and form a coalition govt for the sake of their country and their children's future. South sudan and others have gone that route. For how long will these hopeless somalis remain the only people in the world unable to run a country? They are an embarrassment to not just us Africans but to humanity.

Also what is the role of the UN in this somali nonsense. Ama kazi yao is giving food to refugees at daadab while operating and commuting from leafy runda?

My words exactly! @guka, this is called blind fighting, no strategy at all, that's why when you are asked what is the way forward 5 down the line, you get abusive. Violence begets violence, hate begets hate. The only pple who will suffer with this kind of attitude are the innocent women and children. But of course you don't care, they are not your brothers or sisters...

After the Garrisa attack even the kebabs have knows well that they made a mistake. Here is another one they have made.
Some have been thought brave because they were afraid to run away.

5 years in Somalia and counting for KDF. What is the end game here?

You are a known shabaab sympathizer.Go back to your hole.NKT!Sad

Old man... Stop crying and answer the question??

Shabaabs have counted thousands and there will be many more. We are there to stay, until you come back to civilization. Savages!!

Ok.... They've counted thousands dead and they could count 1 million more!

The point you are not getting is that these people love death as much as you love your life so bombing and killing them as a strategy is not going to work as is evident!

Kenya 5 years and counting, Uganda/Burundi 10 years and counting!

Lets compare notes 5 years from now! Sad

Because Al Shaitan are not interested in peace. However they are largely interested in making a lot of money via smuggling legal and illegal items. They make millions of $$$ just like ISIS makes hundreds of millions smuggling oil. Do not be fooled that they are doing this for Islam. Its about money. The fools are those who go to fight for ISIS and Shaitan thinking that they are fighting for some caliphate.

The whole world should leave them alone to kill and finish off each other. Seems some genes weren't meant to exist in this millenium and nature should be left to take it's course.

Yep, zungs eyeing oil.
Exploiting clan rivalry in som.
But dumping of toxic and medical waste (rem the 2006 Tsunami where barrels were washed ashore?) is done by organized gangs (read mafia) and illegal merchant fishing by opportunistic fishermen aware there's no gava - in effect its actually rape of a sick country.

We could all abandon somalis to their devices but their gava is very weak and cant exert its influence all over the country - meaning vast swathes are lawless lands which alkefafu (a criminal enterprise) controls, and with them desperately jostling for attention from savage groups it means it becomes a national security thing to us to have isis, alqaeda, etc in our backyard. Worse they would forment trouble with our muslim population.

So we leave it like that with all these manner of creepy crawlies of religiously bigots and they start using these lands as their training grounds with us he neighbourhood chums across the street as their target practice.

And nyet, other African countries have flatly refused to deploy, meaning current troop-contributing nations are as stretched as a poko's main tool in trade at end month.

The EU is financing AMISOM - actually one of the reasons Burundi n Ug are in the mix, juu si wanapata USD? Even us we get refunded and we howl like there's no kesho when its delayed - they refund us for use of our equipment so likely we will get refunded all those military vehicles destroyed.

But the country is slowly inching to stability with diasporans returning and real estate pickin up.With alkefafu out of the way and peace restored more can be achieved.

Me thinks UN should take it up though.

My heart goes out to KDF soldiers and their families.

Its a useless war , no end in sight, started for the wrong reasons by myopic leaders.

I salute the fallen soldiers as I wish the injured timely recovery.
Now in this thread I note three groups of leanings. Group one and two though their views contrast in strategy, their interest are solidly behind our troops. Group three seems to be more sympathetic to Somali interest!
Group One; are those who take the view that our troops should be undaunted by terrorists - hence need to stay in Somalia till the job is done.

The second group feels that it doesnt serve our best interest to continue being in Somalia.

The third group, bidding for Somalis - wants our troops out so that the the Somalis may be "free"!
Just as absolute power corrupts leaders, so does absolute fanaticism blind the people from logic

Looks like UK will be jurged harshly by the lukewarm treatment of this attack on our forces. The best he could have done is come back to Nairobi and take charge of this whole issue. He is the CIC afterall.(Dr.Werunga.Presspass.NTV).

Wait until you are told you are in group 3 by Nandwa and Luttz. I'm 100% sure that they don't even know the name of even one of the soldiers that were killed. But heck, they are very patriotic.

Thieves are not good people. Tumeelewana?
