So now that things have cooled off, how bad was this attack. Any clue how many of our soldiers died.

My heart goes out to them and families.

Am really hoping the govt doesn't handle the deaths of KDF heroes they way it did with Bernard tonui, the recce squad hero who died at Garissa university.

It's like the govt didn't want to draw much attention to Tonui's funeral. So much so that Boniface mwangi and his crew were the only ones talking about Tonui.

Personally I would want our heroes to come back home in coffins draped with the national flag. I would want the whole city to come to a stand still. I want the procession covered by each and every radio and tv station. I want every public school closed and the pupils line up city streets waving the national flag. I want to hear the commander-in-chief to reassure the tearful nation that we shall triumph. That though we have been tested, our resolve to win this war is unwavering.

We might, in that sorrowful trance, rediscover our patriotism.

I agree with @guru267, 5 years and counting what is the end game?
By now we should have come up with a timeline of pulling out of somalia and let the AU fill the vacuum as we deploy our soldiers to protect and safeguard our boundaries

Isn't Kenya part of AU? Aren't we there under AMISOM?
