KQ is dead and buried, no need for a funeral. Perhaps I will buy a suit when KQ rises from the dead.

what if the gvt forgets kq,it dies a natural death and starts a new gvt airline without any liability with a new name??is it more economical? this is a good way to deal with KLM

Then it makes sense to look at it again. A new management team. No debt. No gov't interference.
BTW, there's a Kenyan lawyer Ory Okolloh Mwangi who is very upset with KQ. She is trending on Twitter. Something about a 10 hour delay of her flight to Lagos.

In Africa? That's awesome. I mean Africa is a huge market for business class. It means something for KQ to be #1.
Who needs to compete with the likes of Singapore, Cathay, Etihad, Qantas, etc which serve the small markets of Asia, Middle East and Europe?
Plus I am sure the business class passengers were flown ahead of the economy class passengers by 10-40 seats! Less of a delay for them.

There are no gvt bailouts coming. Next year gvt will be busy repaying 700B debt, remaining cash goes to salaries and last to development projects. The only way they can afford bailout cash for struggling firm is to make a 3 Trillion budget n borrow 1 Trillion to plug the deficit.

KQ has not bottomed out for now is a nosedive . The only counter has bottomed out is Mumias now waiting for a sharp take off by surprise.

There is something terribly wrong with me. Current KQ share price has driven me into yet another bid to "speculatively" buy 500 additional shares. Will aim to stock up to a maximum of 5,000 shares in current financial year for the firm. Thereafter, upon FYR will analyse the overall trend with an option to purchase atleast 50,000 shares. The problem I have with this counter is that they literally stopped feeding investors with information. Atleast Naikuni religiously released operating results QonQ including cabin load factor and OTP, despite his cunning nature.. Naikuni also knew how to spin it with the media, via Gina Din. Hii Ngunze imekataa kujoin hata twitter, which would be his best source of info in terms of customer service feedback. Maybe he isnt qualified after all. Prof Nyongo and company may be right!! God forbid

This is interesting.

British Airways boss threatens to shift business abroad

Quote:
The boss of British Airways’ parent group on Monday threatened to develop the business abroad rather than in Britain after the government further delayed a decision on expanding airport capacity.

Prime Minister David Cameron had promised a decision on where to expand airport capacity in southeast England by the end of the year, but last week said no decision would be taken until at least the middle of next year.

Number 6 and 8 would create good savings. Had suggested number 3 directly to the firm, but they have watered my proposal down where the suggestion was complete withdrawal of the hard copy msafiri, to be placed instead on the escreen. We also need erasing of hedging, completely. However, did we need mcKinsey for this?? Really?? The staff would have advised all this, and even more if asked..

@Obiero - The screens are not that great so eliminating a hard copy of Msafiri might not be that great an idea... Plus how many copies are needed anyway?
The entire cost of printing airline magazines should be offset by adverts. Nation doesn't make a profit on selling newspapers, it makes money on the ads in the newspaper!

How about eliminating the kickbacks Alex gets? That would save a lot of millions.

@vvs We shall summon u to EACC.. so u mean that hard copy has no cost at all, from printing, to delivery, handling, added weight, environmental degradation.. Heck! It could even be downloaded to own devices for those who have an issue with screen quality. IMHO, u must be a very old man based on ua school of thought. Tutakuita EACC :) As for the number of copies needed, well over 1m msafiris www.nation.co.ke/busines...4/-/2agkv9z/-/index.html
