Shock on you.

Those blue locos are used in China for hauling "slow" speed pax trains and cargo.
Slow train in China are doing between 80km/h and 120km/h...so these are the final locos pal, live with it.

Those supuu looking looking trains are high speed.....doing 300kh/h plus, no chance in Kenya any time soon.

Way back when the project was starting, KRC had indicated the engines to be used as DF4D. Did Google it and yes, it is the same one shown above. Mybe Japs are being practical. The high speed ones are quite expensive to maintain and passenger fares high too, sijui kama we can have sustainable numbers of travellers hapa at the mid term willing to pay resulting fares....

What kind of madness is this?????

Quote:
A radical new proposal for Phase Two of the Standard Gauge Railway will cut off a huge chunk of the Nairobi National Park.

The proposed railway alignment obtained exclusively by the Star shows the new design that curves deep into the Park for about 50km before exiting near the Kenya Wildlife Service main gate on Langata road.

The new SGR route will detour from Imara Daima Railway line over Mombasa Road joining the Southern Bypass near the Ole Sereni hotel. It will then run parallel to the bypass up to the Emergency Gate along the Southern Bypass near the Carnivore restaurant. The new railway will then pass through Hyena Dam, the Ivory Burning site, Narogomon dam and down to the Kingfisher picnic site.

From there, the line will run to the Central Workshop opposite Multimedia University on Magadi road, skirt the tented Camp and forest area near Banda school, pass the KWS HQ before exiting at the Langata gate to Lenana.

The sgr is a very good project, they are pushing it to malaba - even if uk fails to get another term this is a great project he has pushed through, great benefits along the way also.
