PRESIDENT Uhuru Kenyatta spent hours pleading with Anne Waiguru not to quit as Minister for Devolution and Planning.

Multiple State House sources told the Star yesterday that Waiguru went to see the President on Friday afternoon and remained in a meeting with the head of state for several hours.

“The President was not aware that Waiguru was coming to tender her resignation, and so, when she did, the President was shocked and very disappointed that his strongest Cabinet Secretary had decided to leave.

“He tried to convince her to stay on, without success. Even the senior government officials present were unable to convince the CS to change her mind,” said a senior government official aware of the key events leading to Waiguru’s resignation.

Sheis now paying for restaurant bilsfor university students

Quote:
This past week, 40 UON comrades ate for free at a Nakuru restaurant 'in the name of Anne Waiguru'. Allegedly, the University of Nairobi students invoked the name of Waiguru in a restaurant in Nakuru Town when asked to pay their bill.

Now, their Chairperson Babu Owino has asked restaurants to feed hungry comrades and send him the bills.

Quote:
"They all asked for kuku and an accompaniment, be it chips, ugali, chapati or rice. Then after eating, they had drinks and juices. They ate like Kings," said Feisal.

"After clearing they all stood up in unison like they had planned it. Then they started chanting ' Waiguru must pay! Waiguru must pay! Waiguru must pay!' and started walking out," added Feisal.

Let this matter be investigated fully. If she is innocent, there is nothing to fear.

That was the gate to Kihingo village, the gated community where she lives. Kihingo is Kenya's premier gated community comprising 55 houses on 45 acres. Kihingo makes karen look like a dump. One such Kihingo house:
