It a fact; the Govt is on a borrowing spree. Borrowing to repay loans.

Now they are adding taxes to increase their leverage and ability to borrow more.

Unfortunately unless unchecked, we will be heading the greece way.

Over borrowed and overtaxed a precipitation of an economic crises

There needs to be a tax for sleeping, swimming, golf etc. All luxury needs to be taxed. And tax for inherited assets The last one can make the Kra a lot of money

However would rather have these additional taxes rather than govt borrowing, since we're in a hole aready. But really this is happening due to mismanagement and govt better know we're watching. We're taking stock every step of the way and If they do not stop digging hole we'll kick them out in 2017

Who is overtaxed? Would you rather the Income tax and VAT were increased or the excise duty?

AS i said earlier, these goods and services being taxed are not a necessity, if you feel you are being overtaxed do not buy/consume them

This gaarment is out to maliza wanjiku especially on fuel and used cars. Why ooh why ?
But on the positive side they are giving the common man another reason to kick them out come 2017.

Which common man? , they will be cheering the 'dynamic duo' come 2017.

These middle class Kenyans think that since the tax affects them its also going to affect the ordinary citizen who votes!

Why you ask?
Because Kenyans are tribal voters. Come 2017, tribal affiliation will outweigh all other factors. So all Jubilee needs to do is build tribal blocs and they win.

If wafala Kenyans voted on issues things would be different. Instead Kenyans are convinced that their well being depends on having their tribal chief in power. Peasants and other broke Kenyans can blame themselves.

One would have thought that only illiterate people would vote based on tribe instead of issues. But looking at wazua and seeing people defending incompetent people because of ethnicity, you realize why Kenya is a mess.

Hapo Amero, neither a president nor a political party can win an election if the economy is doing poorly. The main reason Obama won in 2008 is because repubs had wrecked the economy. And thats why America progresses while Kenya remains a black hole.

Remember once again Moi's words: "Mwafrigha bhure ghabisa"

You take Raila's words too seriously about the Euro bond. As for the tax, were you not warned that the new constitution would be expensive?
