It could be the bnk of the year 2015 and its my hope it will be one day the best bank.
The need of office space may see it build the tallest building in Africa somewhere in Nairobi.

Yeah, like the britam tower which is supposed to sky rocket the price to 30's when completed
Britam Tower.
1) Does it belong to Britam or its clients/customers? [Long-term assets under investment plans offered by Britam]
2) Is Britam paying cash or borrowing to build it? [If debt, USD or KES? What rates?]
3) What missed/sacrificed opportunities did Britam trade off? [20% T-Bills, cheap shares eg PER of 8 for KCB, I&M, BBK; PB 0.7 for KenRe; etc]
4) Or could Britam Tower be spun off into a I-REIT?

The britam tower is an asset for investment to generate income for Britam. It belongs to both clients and shareholders.
Britam is using a mixture of debt and cash to build it.They issued a corporate bond last year to partly fund the construction.
Traded off missed opportunities like you have mentioned.
Britam has no plans to spin ot off into an I-REIT

Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly @Winmak....I want you to do a survey of how much NSSF building generates per year. This is one of the best investment. NSSF is the largest investor is stocks and owns almost a big chunk in every stock quoted firm in NSE and none- quoted.
I am thinking one dy they will result into own banking arm (aka NSSF Bank of Kenya)
Indian Billionaires come to kenya, buy prime space, set up buildings and sell- see the Delta building by Ambanis in westlands housing IMF and World bank offices. Nssf is ctually the biggest sy largest building in Kenya and east Africa by space.

NSSF has consistently underperformed the market. If anything, it would have been better off investing in T-Bills than properties.

The bank is on a growth projectory. It is a bank still not much written about. It holds alot of property in the country apart from being a bigger shreholder in most of the cooperates societies it leads. Though Mwalimu Sacco threatened to move out after buying into Merali Eco-bank majority feel the need to stay to hve wide bearth.
This Co-operative Bank has perfomed great from 1/4, half, 3/4 terms showing it will ofcourse do well the next remining 1/4 which is a month nd a hlf to go. Its time the dividend grew to full number a Ksh 1.0 FY2015.
Brokers have recommended it as buy and investors are buying.

@Realtreaty, its Equitorial not Eco, Ecobank is a different entity with a pan african model.

That aside, I concur that Coop is realising the results of its transformation agenda, they have remarkably improved their operation efficiency which is a key driver of low cost of operation thus minimal cost hence increasing their margins as the revenues continues to grow.
Solid bank it appears.

With a 31% grwoth in 3/4 year I am looking for money to add more before January. At 18 I still call it a gift. A dividend of 1Ksh is very feasible 2015FY.
