Imperial's owners frustrate CBK plan

Meanwhile, large depositors met in Mombasa further irking CBK.

Sharks everywhere. That was just bait for some large depositor.
He's smelled blood on the corridors knowing some of the large depositors have accumulated the $$ in ways that may complicate the withdrawal process now that the bank is under receivership.
Pity the small depositors roped into the mess.
Unmasking the large depositors will drag on for a while, reason they will try to rope in small depositors on the frontline to make the most noise for them to CBK.

Troubled Imperial Bank will require as much as Sh40 billion in new capital to be put back on track, a Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) official involved in the revival proposals said.

this is quite normal. Example, you can have accounts for different currencies shilling, dollar, Euro, pound in the same bank.

His was for only KES.
But its good to spread out the risk.

yes, spreading the risk is a must.where money is involved its good to plan for worst case scenarios even though they don't happen much often.

They will change its name to something exotic like Morgan Chase Kenya or HSBC-Kenya.

Saga continues. The defense by Janmohammed family makes for horrid reading. http://www.businessdailyafrica....6/-/gq8ynvz/-/index.html

And together with the whistleblowers, they are all represented by Ahmednasir, making me think the issue will not be resolved soon.

Meanwhile, depositors seem at odds with CBK and are working to ensure bank remains open. Soon it may be difficult to tell pebbles from soil in the muddy affair.
