New Zealand have it; they are all round & tight/compact on opponents!!!

Prophetic.
Half-time 16 3 with New Zealand fierce.
Good game all round.

Congrats NZ. They are deserving winners. One of the aspects that separates NZ from other top teams is the speed and creativity of their passing. They run zig zag patterns and toss theball aroundat high speed. This is what enables them to slice defenses open.

Australia had only one inspiring move which was the clever kick by Will Genia that resulted in their try. Besides that, they were too predictable and well contained by NZ.

15s ni forwards! the game is won there! The Turnovers during lineouts, contact points, scrum downs and rucks e.t.c. kill a team. People cannot run and pass balls if they don't have possession of the ball (Where good forwards really count). There was one scrumdown that was excellent from the All Blacks... Australian ball - waliweka reverse gear.... What we used to call "Yao - Yetu". i.e. it does not matter whose ball it is - the outcome is the same!

NZ did not win the tournament because of their forwards. Yes forwards are important. But the NZ scrum is matched by Argentina, South Africa, England, Wales etc. Even France on a good day has a pack that can match NZ.

What Separates NZ is their skill levels.. Australia had a lot of possession in the second half. But they could not break the NZ defence. Their offense was too one dimensional.

To put it plainly, there is no point having a strong scrum to get you possession if you do not use the possessions to score.

Just like in football, you can have excellent midfielders who create chance after chance. But if the strikers does not have the skill levels needed to score, then its a waste.

Generally backs are wasteful people....Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly I am/was a back... I know... haha.... in order for the glamour boys to get those balls to do their stuff kuna lots of hardwork that goes into it. Especially when you are playing territorial and any sane team must play territorial (this all the kicks). New zealand was kicking when Australia tried to play in their half - why coz they knew they were superior in lineouts (they stole a number of Australian balls in lineouts and lost none). If your forwards are able to recycle balls over and over in your opponents half - you will always come out with something since very few teams can soak up all that pressure for elongated periods of time in their half without conceding something. The advantage in rugby is always the ability to get possession into the half of the opponents. Australia had possession in the second half after the sin bin and they did score twice in 10 minutes. Check out the stats of the game. Forwards are the invisible hand that wins games.

@Masukuma

Kenyan backs may be wasteful but these NZ backs are clearly not wasteful so stop generalizing

Secondly forwards are important. But to suggest that forwards win all the games is a gross over-generalization.

In this game for example, most of the stats I have seen show that NZ and Oz were fairly equal in terms of possession and territory

http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/rugby-union/34671255

Yet NZ won 34-17. Why is that? The answer is simple. They made better use of the possession they had and its largely due to their skill levels.

Now look at the stats for the Argentina vs Australia match

http://www.bbc.com/sport/live/rugby-union/33722113

Argentina had more territory, more possession, more carries, more breaks, covered more metres, ………………….. Yet the did not score a try and lost 15-29. Australia socred 4 tries.

These stats show that your analysis is very simplistic.
Argentina has a scrum that is better than Australia any day. In fact Australia’s weakness has always been their tight five. Yet they have reached the WC final 4 times and won twice.

Not from you.... but I can see an assumption that "true" Kenyans are black. Kenyans come in many many shapes or forms. Kenyans of Asian Origins, Kenyans of European decent e.t.c. In the near future.... Kenyans of chinese decent!
