The best thing a journalist could have done is get the supplier of the said wheelbarrow and buy the same and see how much it costs. This would have brought shame to Lusaka( if the price is less than 109,000)

I would not see any problem with this if its meant to market the county and hope it brings business to the people and the county gets the benefits from the taxes paid by these traders. But since this might not be the case, then there is a problem.

You see, a supply to the government is never at the prevailing market rate. A number of reasons have been advanced on the reason why this is the case.Delay in payment, the complexity of the procurement process among many others. But me and you know the prices are designed to oil the palms of the stakeholders. The Jubilee gament have rolled the e-procurement to the counties to reign on this. The intention was to cup all prices based on the PPOA's price guide. The lords of counties got wind of this and they have rejected it.

Nyeri has also bought Kshs 1.3 million beds. It seems the eating plague is evenly distributed across the counties. Hii ugaatuzi itatumaliza.

Auditor Gen report wrote:
14.0 Illegal Collection of Revenue
During the period under review, the County Government of Meru collected revenue from local sources totaling Kshs.207,971,674. However, no revenue raising measures were submitted to the County Assembly for approval as required in clause 132 (1) & (2) and 133 of the Public Finance Management Act, 2012. Although the finance bill was published the County Assembly did not approve the financial bill. Consequently, the County Government continued to collect revenue using the fees and changes of the defunct Local Authorities under Meru County.

No explanation was given for the gross breach of the law.

Who has the picture of those Bomet county Tata fire fighters, the governo was really defending them last night JKL...eti a normal fire engine would cost 52 million shillings yet his invention only cost 7 million...he said he was not a beauty contest for beautiful fire engines.

In terms of quality and engineering, you cannot compare that Indian contraption with a Ziegler Merc fire engine even if you did not have a head....... but i guess that Bomet governor was just confirming he is a complete ass.
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.
