Maybe they are saying this because their kids are still in private primary schools but soon they will join public secondary schools. Imagine parents have paid high school fees and teachers are on go slow. And this is only year 2 of jubilee's alleged 20yrs in power. After the Kibaki years, employees and kenyans in general expected a govt that would take care of them even better than kibaki did. Not a govt that kills them economically, and professionally. On Sept Salary Sorry they didn't work for a single day..(not sick not on leave) my friend huwezi lipwa. They messed that day they ignored Abwodha's ruling (payslips were awaiting their return to work for printing) and came to heed so late. Those days of Ambrose Adongo they were practical and understanding. Present ones are just too selfish and unreasonable. TSC has done nothing wrong. All that TSC did was to ask the unions to start collecting their dues directly from their members which is fine. The trouble is when the money is in the teachers accounts to make payments to the union is a toll order believe me and especially when the salaries are thin. I blame the choir master, Sossion. He at one point became arrogant and even disrespectingly started throwing tantrums at the head of state. I have never heard any other KNUT secretary general do that! @hardwood...if you do understand how the TSC and KNUT/KUPPET operate with regard to teacher's deductions then you would not be drawing any other entity into the issue. It is clear you don't understand! ...besides, the presence of a safe alone does not signify that there is money inside...

Why punish the union by maliciously changing the way union fees have been handled for ages? Does this also mean that if TSC gets into loggerheads with banks they will stop deducting loan payments from teachers' payslips and ask banks to deal with the teachers directly?

KNUT collects KShs. 135M a month while KUPPET collects KShs. 35M a month. KNUT has over 110 branches while KUPPET has 47 branches. Each branch has a minimum of 5 employees. That strategy by GoK is wrong and done in bad faith. Atleast 750 jobs will be lost. The multi-Million house being built by the union leadership will be stopped, hence a contractor will go hungry. The union rent office spaces countrywide, a landlord is going hungry now. Lakini pia Sossion and Mudzo Ndzili were unacceptably arrogant. But all is not lost since the mother of all teachers strike is planned in Njaanuary next year...lets wait and see. Does this also mean that if TSC gets into loggerheads with banks they will stop deducting loan payments from teachers' payslips and ask banks to deal with the teachers directly? You still don't get it. There was no contract signed between KNUT and TSC on collection of deductions. Theirs was a gentleman agreement where TSC would assist the union to consolidate the deductions and remit to them. Actually TSC was doing KNUT a favour. It was not a right for the KNUT! TSC has been very reasonable on this until KNUT started using that favour irresponsibly against the TSC. What the TSC has done here is to withdraw that favour...just that. KNUT is not being deregistered and neither have they been advised to stop carrying out their rolls as a union. By the, when I first started working for the ministry, the very first thing I did was to join a SACCO. In the application form, there was a question on how I would pay my contributions to the SACCO, whether cash (from my account) or deduction by the ministry...I think the same applies to the teachers in as far as their union is concerned...deductions at the source is more convinient. ...besides, the presence of a safe alone does not signify that there is money inside...

Once an employer is served with a notice of deduction of union dues and he/she doesnt comply, the court can issue appropriate orders. The employer collects the union dues on behalf of the union and hands them over.there is nothing like a gentlemans agreement hapa...Section 49 through to 50 of the labour relations act...Actually its an OFFENCE. possunt quia posse videntur

Sometimes back, when PORK was in US,he bumped into Sossion and infront of congress delegates,he extended an olive branch.Back home, Sossion should have used that opportunity to see out the agreement or any negotiations.Unfortunately, him and that dumb*ss of a Chair, decided to chest thump and display outright arrogance. Here they are! Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

Here they are! So you support your Jubilee gaaament for disobeying the court order in the first instance? What a waste of clay that was used to mold your thick brain!!! This 'jubilee worship' is turning out to be worse than 'Raila worship'. Sad.
