There was drama early morning in Uasin Gishu county after county employees who arrived late to work were locked outside for hours. Employees who arrived after the 8am reporting hour found closed gates. the County’s Secretary, Peter Lelei ,has cautioned all Uasin Gishu county employees against what he termed as stealing the government’s time to attending to their private matters.
Lelei says all Uasin Gishu county employees should work from 8 am to 1pm before taking a one hour lunch break and are expected to resume their duties at 2pm. The employees who had been locked out for hours had to plead for audience with their human resource manager Josphat Rotich to be excused and allowed into their offices .The human resource manager negotiated with them for close to an hour before allowing them in.
However the late comers were forced
to register themselves first and are now awaiting further action from their human resource department .The county secretary has warned that strict measures will be taken against those who will keep featuring in the county’s list of shame ,that is the late comers list including county executive officers.
