HEINEKEN inaugurates Ethiopia's biggest brewery as part of EUR310mln investment in the country

Would trams solve Nairobi's transport problems? I don't think so not unless they are put on all matatu routes. Matatus are more efficient in ferrying huge numbers of people to many many destinations which trams can't.

Good question. The answer would be , build trams to serve the city center. Say from Muthurwa terminus crisscross all the way to westie and then to Ngara ama another terminus those sides of Thika road and then at Nyayo stadium to serve Mbs road; benefits,
-That way no mats in CBD which will also reduce the carbon emissions and noise.
-Then make the fares cheap.
-This will not send matatus out of bizna and it will not be very expensive to build.
-The security problem will be addressed. Hakuna kuogopa hijacks within the city
-Extend operation hours mpaka kitu 1AM.

Trams would only work for intra-city transport, eg hopping from Kencom to GPO. Nairobi trasport problem is getting the masses from the residential areas to the City.Once people are in the city, they can then solve their movements. I doubt many people would wait for a tram from for example railways bus park to GPO. Its better to walk as the waiting time might be much more than the walking time.

Nbi is just too congested to plan. It would be much easier to build a new capital elsewhere with better infrastructure than try to create order our of chaotic Nbi.

congratulations ethiopia for the lrt. generally speaking, ethiopia is coming from a lower development base and some of the investments its making or getting now are phases kenya has passed. except things like lrt of course.
All my friends are heathens, take it slow. Wait for them to ask you who you know. Please don't make any sudden moves.
