And if as someone pointed out that this is on the frontline and that is how the conditions are, we have huge huge problems.

To hear the police spokesperson say the area has been calm just adds to the amplify how seriously such matters are treated ath the HQ.

Our security lapses are homegrown. There was nothing to compromise security just highlighting the big flaws that need to be addressed.

Nothing to complain on the living conditions but the preparedness of the post on neutralizing any security threat is way below expectations.

In an area being considered an infiltration point then there needs to more seriousness if we intend to tackle terror.

We are so behind, corrupt, removed from reality, a bunch of jokers etc.

1) Policemen should not be fetching water and firewood. The government should get a water tanker to supply the police posts with water and build storage tanks for them. One tanker can serve up to twelve police stations/posts in the region - two per day. Every stations/post gets a delivery once a week. The time the spend fetching water and firewood can be used policing.

2) Communication equipment. That should be a must!!! Should be among the best in the country. Should be working and have an up time of 99% plus.

3) Police helicopter. There MUST be at least one stationed permanently in the region - even if it is serving police posts/stations in a 100 km radius. The helicopter should be equipped well enough to provide air support, surveillance, search and rescue missions etc. In case of an attack, radio communication, air support pap!!!

4) Basic living conditions should be improved. A mabati dining area/entertainment area that is sprayed with bullets as you are eating is a no no. A basic stone structure would mitigate such attacks. I saw some of them wearing those sandak sandals called floaters and another wearing akala with their jungle uniform. I don't think they had left their boots in the house!

And these things are not "a movie" as some clown was saying. These are basic requirements that we can afford. I know how much taxes me and my fellow Kenyans pay both directly and indirectly. I know how much of that is wasted (over) paying idiots, corruption - including purchase of 5k wheelbarrows at 109k, paying 2m to open a Facebook page and all the billions looted at both the National and County level

Masukuma thinks these should not be because these individuals are 'trained'. Their 'training' was to fetch water & firewood.

He/she also says that is what they 'signed up for'. They signed up to fetch water and firewood.

Whereas I agree the conditions are pathetic, that cannot be the situation in Boni only. Our police are beknown for being sooo under equipped. Cattle rustling in the north has generally gone on because the police are ill equipped, ill armed and mayb in worse conditions than even.Boni
