After 4 months my wife got tired of staying at home and with still 8 months to go on her maternity leave she decided to get a job locally to keep her busy. She got a job in a small firm in town paying her 30k and boy does she come with stories.
Yesterday we went to Southern Comfort in Karen for a sundowner as my wife "updates" me bout the office. You would be surprised at how much drama this small offices carry.Jana somebody stole 200 kshs from a purse of a colleague when she was in the washroom,The secretary is sleeping with the boss that's why she has changed her wardrobe,I drop and pick my wife everyday now that has become an issue "we also have husbands" someone barked it goes on and on..
Now next to us was a group of 5 old men, moneyed i must say..they were lamenting about their children.
In Kikuyu -1st old man "My son went out and pulled out a gun and shot in the air and was arrested".
2nd old man- "Is he the one that crashed your cruiser"
1st old man- yes yes that one.
3rd old man - you should let him stay there for a week and learn his lesson"
1st old man - the mother is pestering me all night i can't even sleep.
4th old man - your son is very proud he should stay there.
2nd old man - I heard mr x's son is marrying
5th old man- really is that even possible.
1st old man - i find him very foolish, did he finish his degree in Russia.
3rd old man - no no ..they took him to South Africa.
1st old man - i hear he got himself a white one
My point to this is that we are all just a bunch of gossipers, it's no longer the domain of women, i guess men have taken over the mantle.
The greatest danger in times of turbulence is not the turbulence; it is to act with yesterday's logic.
