Worried for KQ more than before because of the ET's 79 planes, 6m pax and the low fares they charge compared to KQ's numbers and high fares. ET is still rejigging it's fleet and will go after the rest of KQ's lunch in due course unless KQ can justify their high fares with corresponding service.

these guys charge high cost of travel and they end up making losses? I see there is a problem somewhere. Id rather use Ethiopia airlines and help that country with my little money instead of KQ and blame it on anti-patriotism. of course ill go where its cheaper...helloo

Very deceiving comparison. Source cited CAPA does not provide fare comparisons.

First of all, the author uses full fare economy for KQ tickets.

Second, the author should have also compared prices from Addis and Johannesburg to London for the three airliners. Reason: direct flights are 99% of the time more expensive than 1 stop flights, the so called convenience tax.

Example:

Addis - London
ET - $882
KQ - $894
SA - $1'754
Cheapest: Egyptair @ $709

Johannesburg - London
KQ - $737
SA - $896
ET - $836
Cheapest: KQ
