I don't know how the law works in Kenya but huko majuu that would be considered a a blatant appropriation of Yego's image. Tusker would lose in court.

When Tusker appropriated Oliech's image back in 2009, the law was on their side. But Oliech boycotted the national team and Tusker had to relent because the public turned against them. Yego may have no way to fight this other than public relations.

I say we should pay athletes like Yego in order to encourage other vijana vijana into events like these.

When I was in primary school, I had a classmate who was an amazing gymnast. During every prize giving day, the headmaster would ask him to entertain the crowd with his somersaults, backflips and other mambo jambo. he could even twist mid-air. Later we went to secondary school and though he was barely 6 feet, he could dunk a basketball.

He was a freak. He had amazing leaping ability, a very flexible spine, he was fearless when it came to contorting his body in mid-air. Such a person would make an amazing high jumper or pole vaulter. or he could do Olympic divingThose skills could have taken him places if given guidance.

If Kenya encourages such vijana vijana, then the country can top the athletics table more often. EABL should behave themselves and pay Yego. Not only that, but they should sponsor grassroots athletics in order to unearth other talents. They would be empowering grassroots coaches who have an eye for talent and can groom the youth into world class performers.

They are behaving like our politicians, trying to approppriate for themselves something they havent earned. EABL likely have never contributed anything to Yego's success yet they are appropriating his success

Great to see the way Jubilee gava is supporting sports. DPORK really emphasised this at JKIA today while receiving the team back!!!

Good on jubilee govt to cheer the team after they have won. Good on Sonko for hiring stretch limos to ferry the athletes. But it would be better if government actually contributed to the success instead of waiting until the athletes are successful then jump on the bandwagon.

Jubilee can start by breaking ground on the 5 stadiums they have been promising every few months. Less talk and more action and more results

Why are you so sensitive to criticism? Are you in the jubilee govt?

1. The current government did not hire them as cops or prison warders as you claim. Most of them held these jobs before the current govt came to power.
2. Travel is covered by either IAAF or the local organizing committee
3. Government does not pay coaches as you are trying to claim

In any case I am not directing my criticism at Jubilee specifically. This has been the behaviour of Kenyan politicians for as long as I have known.

You have Ruto now grabbing primary school land. If you grab football fields, where will the next generation of footballers come from? Grabbing fields is detrimental to Kenya's sporting prospects yet this is the same Ruto who is quick to run to the airport to take credit.

Its not being sensitive. This gov has done alot for sports that the mkate nusu gov dint do. Lets leave the sch play ground out first, that case is in court. If you feel so much more needs to be done why not apply for a position or become an sports activist.
