Well the government is keen on making sure it is set up. I have seen a few ads in the paper (friday) looking for commodity traders. However i think there will be a slight delay before it is launched, I am guessing december earliest.

another vision 2030d'oh!

Kenyans suffer from chronic amnesiaSad

Remember demutualisation by NOV 09,Listing of several GOK controlled firms by 09,

bypass,overpass, superhighways,electric trains, etc etc..

Thats why I dont find it necessary to read or listen to news...all gibberish
The utimate goal of investing is to buy low sell high;if we re-write this core equation in psychology terms it becomes buy fear sell greed.

I believe they are serious .... not another vision 2030. Check out Louis Dreyfous commodities....Then you know its serious. Ethipia is already doing it.

It would be really great to have commodities exchange operating. This exchange is offering huge possibilities for high earnings. It could be also good for local companies

Except for tea and horticultural crops 90% of agricultural produce is fow own consumption and this never goes through the market.

What would work best be commercial warehousing that would reduce after harvest losses and allow farmers to pool to the warehouse whatevwr they produce, bulk it and commonderize it as a market product.

That doesn't suprise me. In the same manner, the NSE has been "launching" derivatives trading since 2017!
