If you have followed Rudisha's career you will know just how smart he and Brother Colm have managed. They have perfected the art of strategy to get the most out of what they know is short career. I remember Rudisha articulating exactly what that strategy was way back in 2011 and what has followed is perfect execution of that strategy.

In 2010 they had worked on getting him to run fast which he did by breaking the world record twice.

In 2011 the plan was to win a world championship which they did. This was important for Rudisha because he had been fast since 2006 but had no title so they had to work on getting a title and this meant concentrating not just on running fast but controlling the race by running at the front.

In 2012 the plan was to combine both fast running and championship running and they did this in spectacular fashion by winning the Olympic gold in world record time.

He missed 2013 due to injury and this 2015 win is just another testament to how mature this guy is as a competitive athlete in body and mind. If you look at his buildup, he ran both the slowest heats and slowest semi finals to save his best for last because he knew he is not in his best form yet planned it in such a way that he got the best result.

I am hearing on Radio Trottoir eti a Kenyan was busted for EPO. Wahiga Mwaura is on Twitter telling everyone. There was a Kenyan who was inexplicably scrached from her semi final. I wonder if this was why. I hope it is not true. Please don't let it be true. People will start saying eti this is why Kenya is atop the charts.

This bored has not sufficiently praised Nicholas Bett for being the first Kenyan sprinter ever to win gold at a major global event

Some reports indicate two sprinters. Given the recent reports about doping in the sport IAAF will put a media show when naming the involved athlete/s .Hope the honchos at athletic kenya are ready for the media storm

This just tarnishes all the good work that has been done so far...hopefully it doesn not become a media circus. I hope the Kenyan athletics federation imposes lifetime bans to deter anyone else because the world will start thinking we have been doping all these years irrespective of whether short or long distance

On a different note though, let me throw a spanner in the works....was that the strongest 400M hurdles lineup out there? I'm not trying to water down Nicholas Bett's efforts and achievement but I'd be very happy knowing we beat the best. I don't follow that particular race closely.

I must admit I was wrong about Rudisha @ Kusadikika, clearly he had a plan and it worked out - nice analysis. Ezekiel Kemboi demonstrated vigorously by pointing at his head with both index fingers ( which by the way I found quite an unnecessary jibe aimed at his nearest rival) that you need brains as much as brawn to win.

These are no-name atheletes, no impact on our image. would worry if our frontline runners were caught doping, likes of Ezekiel Kemboi, Rudisha. Youtube man and our golden ladies etc.

Hawa can dope as much as they want, only make sure they get away with it.
