I bought 6,000 Kenya Airways shares at ksh 19.00 and now the shares are selling at Ksh 5.00. That is a loss of Ksh 84,000.00. Suppose I buy another 30,000 shares at Ksh 5 and sell at Ksh 8.00, I will make a profit of Ksh 24,120.00 then I exit. Will this make sense? Remember the more you buy at a cheaper price, the more you lower the average buying price, like in my case the average price has gone down to Ksh 7.33 instead of Ksh. 19 so friends, let us continue buying. And remember there was a time Kenya Aiways shares were selling at Ksh 62.00. You will never know.

Hold your horses, there are better shares to invest in (not buy) out there.

Just wondering. Is KQ a dead airline that we're holding onto due to sentimental values?

I have a Ghanaian-British friend who used to work in Kenya for a multinational before he went back to London. He was very fond of KQ because it was the best african airline brand in his mind.

We spoke the other day on phone and KQ came up. To his surprise, it was Kenyans on social media that were bashing KQ the most while he thought we would sympathetic towards KQ, our national heritage.

But maybe it's time to say goodbye. The competition especially from the Arabian airlines is too hot for most airlines around the world to compete with plus their countries subsidize fuel and give them priority in their airports. From the incentives, it is more cost effective for an Emirates plane to fly back home than park at Heathrow or use a hangar there for example.

The second thing I'm wondering is, why would KQ want to go to the US? Does it make any sense cost-wise? Granted, the Kenyans there will use it but do they realise just how extremely competitive and expensive the US is? Do they realize how poor KQ is in service provision yet service is the only key to the US market?

BBI will solve it

The strong will by govt to pump money here makes it a good buy.I have never been diagnosed with madness by any doctor, indications are that there can't be kenya without a national airline

Take a step back and ask yourself what investment strategy you are using.
The investor's chief problem - and even his worst enemy - is likely to be himself
